Mental Break


Ever just feel like you need a little mental break? Bobby and I are very much feeling that way right now! Just when you think you are done handling a certain situation, a BIG one mind you…one lasting almost a year and a half…it creeps back up when you least expect it. Blah.

My parents are currently at the beach, and my mom sent me these two gorgeous pictures:



Sigh. Gorgeous.

So, we are thinking we may take a spontaneous early Valentine’s Day-we-need-to-get-the-heck-out-of-town-before-we-lose-it trip next weekend. I love and miss the beach, and our favorite spot is only two hours away, so we may just go for it. I think I need to take my own advice (number 5) on my blog post about things not going as planned!

Sometimes, don’t you just wish you could snap your fingers, go back in time, and change something that would avoid a WHOLE lot of future drama? Oh boy do I ever with this one! (Nothing I did…preventing someone else from doing something stupid basically.)

Sorry to be less than stoked today guys, I try to always look for the positive and in a situation and make lemonade out of lemons, but trust me, this one is a toughie.

I love y’all and hope you have a fabulous weekend. I am heading out to run six miles with Bobby.

    I would go to the beach too! I love it and I wish I could go more often. I hope you and Bobby can take that trip! You deserve it 🙂

  2. Mental breaks are so necessary for mental health. I take mental health days somedays where I just do whatever I want to do haha. Hope you take that trip!

  5. I think we are in the same boat. I just posted on my blog last night about finding a tall mountain to run and stopping at the summit and screaming at the top of my lungs. Oh how I wish I was Forest Gump to just leave all my worries and run for 3 years. But, alas, neither is really doable so I truly contemplating a weekend retreat.

    Everything will get better, it’s always a slow process and when we are in the middle of it the end never seems near. But we are strong women and God never gives us more than we can handle.

  6. So sorry that you’re feeling this way! I needed to relax and take a break yesterday too so I did it and felt better…but I’m pretty sure that some time spent at the beach would have been wayyyy better haha. If I could get away for the weekend I would fly to Florida to see my fiance!

    Mental breaks…I need one…thought I was going to ‘get away’ last weekend for my bday..that didnt happen….
    but if time is limited, I escape to Naples Beach (just on the opposite side of FL than me so I can get there in like 90 mins!)

    A weekend getaway sounds nice. I would love to go out to our cabin which is about 4 hours from where we live. It’s in the middle of nowhere….ahhhhhhh.
