runDisney: Special Guest for Marathon Weekend

This year’s Walt Disney World marathon weekend promises to be the best yet. With it being the 20th anniversary of the race, there are all kinds of changes and fun being added for 2013. The fun just keeps on rolling in, with the newest exciting announcement coming out yesterday. I am stoked about this one, because I am a hue fan of the Biggest Loser. Any guesses? Ok ok, I can’t hold it in any longer. Alison Sweeny, host of the Biggest loser, will be not only appearing at marathon weekend, but she will be running the half!

Alison is an avid runner who has competed in many previous marathons and half marathons, but this will be her first runDisney event. she is excited to bring her kids along and well, why don’t I just let Alison speak for herself:

Don’t forget about some of the other fun changes for this year’s marathon weekend:

· Enhanced entertainment at Mile 20 to celebrate the 20th anniversary

· A specially-designed 20th anniversary Mickey Mouse medal

·New course routes through the Walt Disney World Speedway and the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex

·A new post-race party at Downtown Disney

Spots for the weekend’s races are filling up fast, so be sure to get yours before they are all gone! You can register online, it’s quick and easy, so don’t miss out on the fun! I will be there running the goofy challenge, and cannot wait!

Comments

  1. You forgot the most important thing: Costume? Or no Costume?

  2. Yay, I love Allison Sweeney. Ever since Days. I do not know which celebrity I would want to see, but I did run side by side to Kate Gosilin from Kate plus 8 in San Diego. That was interesting for a while. Lol thanks for posting so much great info about the race. Larisa

  3. Disney will be my first marathon and I’m SO EXCITED. Anyway, just thought I’d share. I’m looking forward to anything and everything this event has to offer.

  4. RunDisney sounds like so much fun!

  5. I’m doing Goofy this year too! I can’t wait, but I’m definitely nervous about the training for a back to back half and full! Will you be posting about your training for this type of event at all?

I’ll also be out in Disneyland for the half in September, my first time out there, very excited!

  6. I LOVE Alison Sweeney! I had the chance to interview her back in March, and she is the sweetest, most down to earth girl ever.

  7. Is it January yet? Cannot wait.

  8. All of the announcements that runDisney has been releasing about marathon weekend are really getting me excited for my first full marathon! I love the course changes and the celebrities that are participating in the weekend. I can’t wait to see what the medal will look like and that the Mile 20 Extravaganza will be!

  9. still on my list of possible races to do and you are totally pimping it! 🙂

  10. It was my first marathon ever last year. I would love to do it again. Too bad it is just not in the budget for a plane ticket and hotel right now. I hope you have a ton of fun though!

  11. I’m itching to do this race! It looks so fun.

  12. hmmmm what celeb would I like to see at a marathon…good question…though I’d gladly take any opp. to see Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki or a slew of other hot men at marathons or anywhere for that matter! LOL

  13. I want to go and dress up as Esmerelda. Also? I want to run a mary with Suri Cruise.

  14. I LOVE The Biggest Loser!!! I’m so excited Alison is running the half!!! SO awesome!!!

  15. If I wasn’t heading to Costa Rica that next week I’d be all about this! I attempted the WDW Full last year, but ran out of time limits at mile 22 (no fun at all) I’m itching to make a comeback, maybe goofy 2014?

  16. Newest goal….find Alison Sweeny….uhhh….I mean take pictures with as many characters as possible. Right…..

  17. Too far for me BUT I have watched Days for too many years to count – can you tell her! 😉 When she started TBL – I was so thrilled!!!

  18. I love Alison on Biggest Loser. She seems to have genuine empathy for the contestants.

As far as celebs go, I wouldn’t mind having Channing Tatum waiting for me at a finish line with open arms.
