Weekend Woes

Does anyone else feel like they totally fail on the weekends with their eating? I do SO well during the week because I pack my lunch. Breakfast is really healthy, dinner is so so, but I am ok with that due to the two other meals being super healthy.  But when Friday night rolls around, I am a failure till Monday morning! We love to eat, we love to eat out. It relaxes us, it’s fun, and I don’t have to cook. I hate cooking on the weekends! This usually amounts to me having sweet tea, lots of dessert and tons of calories on cheese dips, pastas, mexican food, junk food.

Then, Monday morning, I step on the scale and get so mad at myself. I work all week to get myself where I need to be, then blow it every weekened, so i never actually get where I want to be. I guess maybe I could workout more to offset the food? I just don’t know what to do. We really love to eat out and I feel like I deserve good yummy food on the weekend if that makes sense.  Also, it seems like there is always something to celebrate. Oh a birthday dinner, we are celebrating this or that, this person made a special dessert and I have to have some, etc. etc.

I guess I am just kind of at a loss. I am trying to learn how to indulge in good fun food but also not blow it every weekend. What do you do on the weekends? Is this a problem for you?

  1. I feel like I fail every night at eating. It’s not an end of the week thing, it’s an end of the day thing. Weekends are a struggle for most people because you’re off-schedule but I don’t have a regular schedule with classes always changing and meetings etc. Just try to think that good, healthy food is the yummy food! I reward myself with extra salsa and carrots or a bag of 100 calorie popcorn. We all feel like we fail sometimes.

      see I don’t see those things as rewards so its hard. I don’t like carrots or salsa much. I look at popcorn as pretty healthy anyway and not an indulgence lol! I need help!

  2. I’m usually okay on the weekends because I’m so busy. I only eat 3 meals instead of my 3 meals + 2 snacks. But my downfall is going out with friends on the weekends! It’s usually pizza or something else less than healthy. 🙁

  3. You DO deserve to indulge on the weekends! And the weight you “gain” is just water retention from the high sodium foods. Don’t stress about it so much 🙂

  4. The evenings at home kill me, especially when my husband is around. The weekends—forget about it. Its a shame because I am soooo disciplined during the day!

  5. OMG that is SO what I’m struggling with. I hate it. The week I am SO good and pack my lunch, make healthy dinners, etc. The weekends have been bad lately! ESPECIALLY when I have family coming on the weekends like I’ve had recently and then it’s just too hard to resist eating out and snacking on junk in front of the tv. lol. I am going through total depression today after a 4-day weekend of eating junk with the fam… I totally know what you mean and feel your pain!! I’m with you though- I LOVE eating out and love indulging and it’s hard enough to be good throughout the week lol… so I just don’t know!
