I had a rough day yesterday and didn’t really feel like blogging last night. I did find a couple of quotes I am hanging on tight to as we go through a rough patch. I hope they can help someone else today.

  1. When things aren’t going your way, just remember,YOU make the decisions, life doesn’t make them for you. You have free will. There’s always a solution, may not be exactly what you want, but it’ll be there.

  2. Patty Holliday says

Thinking good thoughts for you Heather! I go to Jeremiah 29:11 when things are hardest.

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

  3. been there
    git that
    big hugs…..

  4. Lisa (Mom to Marathon) says

Just keep powering through like you are doing. Hold on to the good. A few years ago, my husband was out of work for close to a year. Neither of us could find a job and it took its toll on everything. We made it through and things are better than ever.

Hold on to those mantras and your faith. They will get you through.

  5. Lindsay @ The Lean Green Bean says

i feel ya, girl! hang in there!

  6. Lots and lots of hugs <3

  7. xoxo. i like time to myself. a walk, a bath, whatever. just time alone.

  8. Hugs Heather! Lean on God..He will get you through the rough times! “Cast all your anxiety upon Him because He cares for you.” 1 Peter 5:7

  9. When times are trying, I keep telling myself it will get better, and I have specific music I listen to to unwind

  10. Hang in there. What is life without some ups and downs.

  11. 🙁 Hugs to you! Sometimes when I’m having a really rough time, I feel like I’m just working to keep my head above water. That feeling always makes me think of Finding Nemo…Dori saying “just keep swimming”. And that puts a smile on my face. Sometimes that’s my only smile, but at least I had one. 🙂 Take care!

  12. Amy - Mom's Magical Miles says

Love the middle quote! I hope things work out the way you want, but until they do, know that you’ve got a lot of support!

  13. I’m loving all the verses people are posting and completely agree. Everything happens for a reason! Sounds typical, but after the week I have had, trust me, there is silver lining in everything – you just may not see it until a later date.

I always tell myself that He (for me, God, for others maybe the Universe or whatever higher power) has a plan and path for each of us, we just have to trust and go down the path whether we want to or not and whether we like it or not! There is always something to be learned too!

  14. I always hope that whatever tough time or trial I am going through is to 1) learn something 2) be an example to others on how to handle tough situations or 3) be able to relate to someone later on when they are going through something hard and need advice or help.

Hope things turn around for you!

  15. Whatever is going on right now, just know that you are on the path where you belong. God is much smarter than any of us – and He proves it everyday.

Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. (Matthew 6:34 NIV)

  16. Dang. You know just what to say. That last patience quote? Felt like it was speaking to me.

  17. Kimberly L. says

Thank you for posting this…..I am having a rough life right now and so needed to read this post…..Thank you for the reminder to keep my Faith.

  18. I understand. Hope life gets better for you, friend.

  19. ((Hugs)), my friend. Things will look up soon!

  20. We’ve had a lot of personal struggles in our marriage-we’ve buried 3 out of 5 of our precious children and those experiences have sparked a lot of other choices and conflicts, you know? A very dear friend of mine has always just told me “It’ll all be ok, even when it’s not.” I know that doesn’t make a lot of sense but it’s in response to a quote by Jeffrey R Holland: “Some blessings come soon, some come late, and some don’t come until heaven; but for those who embrace the gospel of Jesus Christ, they come.”
