Boarding the Mickey Boat

We walked through the ears and saw the welcome aboard signs!

When we got to the lobby they asked our names and said over the loudspeaker “welcome aboard” and said our families names. It was a nice touch.
We were directed down the hall to eat lunch.

VERY excited to finally be on the mickey boat!

We were directed up the elevators to the Beach Blanket buffet for lunch. They had a great spread of food and we ate outside on the deck

After we ate we realized it was time for our rooms to be ready! We had an oceanview room on the 2nd floor

We then went to wander around for a bit and explore the ship and found these guys.

This is one thing we noticed about this cruise line, is the huge opportunity to see characters and not wait in line. we walked up to these guys and there was no one around. then they started walkin away and were goofing off in front of the Walt DIsney Theater, and NO ONE was around so we followed them and played with them for a few minutes, it was fun!

my dad pointing to the sign that says this area for guest 18 and up ha!

Ok that’s all for now. More boat pictures and the first night of dinner will be next.

ok other business, I didn’t workout today, but I have been cleaning all morning since my family is coming in tonight for the funeral. That counts right? I may also do some hand weights later, too.

Crazy timing

Talk about madness. Today had already been a whirlwind and it’s not even 2:00 yet! Bobby left this morning early to go to the funeral home to make arrangements, and I went out for a very hot very humid 2 miles run. i had been sitting in a waiting room cahir for 2 days and needed to do something even though i knew it was too hot already at 9:30 am to go very far.
Bobby called and told me the arangements, and then told me there is a small problem. I may have mentioned Bobby’s dad owned some jewelry stores, one being here at our local mall. Well, they have been building a new store in a super nice outfoor mall location, and are moving out of the mall. Well, they have to be OUT of the mall by Wednesday night, and the new store isn’t quite done yet, and there are boxes or inventory EVERYWHERE in the store! So Bobby went straight there to help move stuff and I met him up there and I made boxes while he packed up a Yukon full of boxes then we drove it to the new store and unloaded it. Like Bobby, his uncle and brother REALLY need something else to worry about right now. We are going to have to go the day of the freaking funeral just to pack up the rest of the store. It’s just awful timing. I came home though beause of the little furballs needing to go out, I just feel bad Bobby is having such a long hard day, and he still has a meeting to go to tonight for something else. Anyway, please continue to be in prayer for us, I will resume pictures soon, promise!

Not a fun day

We got a call at 1:15 this morning that Bobby’s dad’s heart rate dropped from the 150’s to the 60’s, and they lost his pulse for a bit. They got him back, had him on meds and said it would keep him alive at least until morning. We got another call at 5 saying we needed to come up to the hospital so we went, and found out he keeps crashing, and he meds they give are keeping him alive. The decision was made that the next time his BP dropped, they would not give him any more meds. We waited, it took awhile, and we gathered in his room at 9:20 as his numbers dropped down th zero. It has been a sad, long, weekend and will be a sad long week.
Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers as arrangements are made and final words are said. I will blog when I can, things will be back to normal soon, I hope you are understand and will be patient with me during this time. Thanks for being loyal readers. Love yall!

Day 2 of vacation pictures

We got up and ate breakfast in the food court at Port Orleans, then drove to the port, it took about an hour.

cruise terminal

while bobby and my mom checked in, dad and I parked the truck and met them inside. We sat around but for only about 45 minutes.

they called our boarding group number (we actually got bumped up to a sooner group) and we got to walk through the ears and onto the mickey boat!

*****Sorry this is short, we are having a family emergency. I don’t talk about this much on here, but Bobby’s dad has been fighting cancer for 11 months, and yesterday morning we got a call at 5 am, and he was rushed to emergency surgery. We were there a lot of the day and evening and just got another call and are heading back now, so pelase say a quick prayer for us. *****

Something to chew on

After doing a little reading today and coming across something I have read before but found once again, I feel prompted to touch on a well, very touchy subject. I thought about all these things I could say, all the pleadings I could make to sway people, but in the end, I realized that this picture says it all.

Is this what beauty really is?

Disney Trip Day 1

Ok so i decided I am not going to go REALLY into detail here with what happened on the trip, but it would be more of a picture diary with a few explinations thrown in. Also, I won’t do it everyday b/c it’s WAY time consuming but I will throw in differnt days every few days or whenever I have the extra time. Make sense? Ok good!

We drove to my parents Friday the 11th and had dinner and a surprise cake for Bobby

Left at 3:30 AM the next morning, got to Port Orleans Riverside around 3:00 PM

we all 4 shared a room since it was just one night, to save money.

We then went to the pool, then ate in the food court and went to Downtown Disney and got ice cream

Sorry this is a short one but I am realizing my pics are not organized like I want them to be and it is making things take twice as long so i will do more next time I blog about the trip, so sorry!
I took a rest day from exercise today. Tomorrow I will run here or at the gym. Have a good night all!

QOTD: what picture uploader do you use? I use photobucket mostly.

Castaway Cay 5k

Ok So I thought while I formulate my thoughts on what to share about my trip I would go ahead and share with you the 2 times I actually worked out. (We also walked a lot too!) I ran on the ship on our sea day on the treadmill. The fitness center has windows all across the front looking out and I was worried I would fall off the treadmill so I got on one that was a row back and down and I really couldn’t see out. Also, they have these awesome tv screens right in front of your face on every treadmill so i watched South Africa play in the world cup. I had two people come up and ask me the score lol! I ran 3 miles. It felt great but at the same time I felt so BLEH so I took it slow.
The second time I ran was on Castaway Cay, Disney’s AMAZING private island. Every Disney cruise to the Bahamas/Caribbean stops here for a day. We were on a special cruise called a double dip and we got to go twice, so they ran the 5k twice. We decided to only do it on the 2nd stop and relax the first time.
Honestly, I would have been fine NOT doing it (Hello, vacation!) but Bobby really wanted to do it so I agreed. Well, let me tell you…something about the SUN in the bahamas….it seems so much stronger and hotter! Now, I live in Mississippi, so I am used to running in 95 degree weather and 100% humidity, BUT, this was different.
We met at the gangway right off the ship at 8:30. There were about 12-15 people, I was one of three girls. I met a guy who ran the Disney full this year and I told him we ran the half, and another guy was talking about all his marathons…this is when I looked around and realized we were among some really elite runners! eekk! Why are we doing this again?!?
Here I am right before we took off

We walked over to a map and the cast member showed us the “route” we would be taking. we were running down the road through the main guest areas then down the airstrip to the adult beach, around the bike path and back to the ship.
We took off running and we made the mistake of trying to keep pace with these crazy people. We backed off a little but I wanted to keep them in my sights. we ran a 9 something first mile and the sun was so hot I knew I couldn’t hold that pace.
It was really nice and peaceful though running with no one around on this beautiful island! We stopped a couple times to take pics

we came up on the airstrip where we had to go down to the end and then turn around and head down the bike path. We passed everyone already going back the other way and I started thinking we were not even halfway!

we thought it would be fun to get an action shot!
if you look behind me to the left you can see blue, that’s the water at the adult beach, so beautiful!

we turned into the bike path and we were all by ourselves, I kept hearing things rustling in the bushes!

we got to the observation tower and they had water there so we stopped and I refilled my bottle.

it seemed like we were on that stupid bike path forever! We finally came out and were headed bac down the rest of the airstrip and through the guest areas to the ship. We almost got lost once, too!

As we were going down the main path we ran into my parents who were headed for the beach. My mom of course starts cheering and screaming for us!
The last half mile was so brutal. We kept passing people going to the beach who looked at us like we were insane! At this point I started telling Bobby I hated him for making me do this! I looked at my garmin and we had gone 3.3 miles! We get back to the ship and the cast member who ran with us was waiting for us with towels, water, and a nice Disney cruise line water bottle. I thought all of that was a nice touch! He thanked us for running and we went back on the ship to change into our suits and meet my parents back at the beach!

Ok so those are my workout recaps. Stay tuned for more vaca pics!
I ran 2.1 miles outside today, it was so hot. running at 11:30 is not the best idea. I also did some arm weights. Not sure what I will do tomorrow yet!

Have a good night!
QOTD: Where is the most beautiful place you have run?

I am having major vacation withdrawals! There were no chocolates on my pillow last night, no one to serve me my dinner in a very professional fashion, no eating whatever food I want whenever. *Sigh*
I am trying to decide how I want to share my pictures, I won’t share them all because I have about 500, but share I will, so hang on!
I got up this morning and went to the gym and did 3.1 miles of fast intervals. It felt good to sprint!

Ok, so when I came home I had this waiting for me!

I got it on sale before the cruise and I was so excited. I have been wanting a princess skirt for a long time but refused to pay full price. I haven’t run in it yet but will take pics when I do.

I was SO excited to come home and see my puppies yesterday. We played and played and poor Bella was wiped out. Look how she is laying haha

I will start posting some of my cruise pics tomorrow. Here is a sneak peek though:

I’m bbaaacckk!

Hello everyone! i am back! (kind of) I am at my parents house in New Orleans, leaving in a little bit to go HOME! I haven’t seen my puppies in ten days!! I miss them!
We had a BLAST! I don’t know if I will ever be anle to sail on another cruise line ever again. The absolutely spoil you rotten on a DIsney cruise. The service was impecable, the ship was so nice and so clean, the food was amazing, and Castaway Cay, their private island…oh just wait till you see my pictures! I can’t wait to share! I do feel very BLAH bloated and gross though from all the bad food and not evnoug exercise. I ran twice on the ship. Well once on the ship and once at Castaway Cay, and I did elliptical this morning at my parents house. We did walk a TON though!
I hope everyone had a great week. I am glad to be back but also so sad it’s over. SO conflicted!!! I will get back to regular blogging tomorrow!

Unexpected Day

So, I was hoping today would be relaxing, packing, getting ready for the trip, etc. Not so much! Bobby was going to go to his office for a bit, go workout, run a couple errands for me, then go to his other job at 4. Well, by the time I got back from my awful 1.5 mile run (it was so humid I couldn’t breath!) and an hour at the pool, Bobby was hard at work on a new case. Well, within the next 2 hours he got two new cases. SO much for his relaxing day! He was also supposed to cut the grass. He ended up not being able to go to the gym or run any errands, and he only packed a little.  He literally ran out the door after his shower to go to work. Look how nasty his legs were after he cut the grass!

So packing took WAY longer than I thought. I worked for over 4 hours before calling it quits for a while. This is the current state of our bedroom:

We leave tomorrow morning for my parents house I am so excited! So I will be on twitter until Sunday midday, then I turn my phone off till the 18th, then it will be back on, so I will try to post twitter pics. So, if you aren’t following me on twitter, you can do so by clicking on the button on the right sidebar. I hope everyone has a great weekend! Check back next week for a trip recap!
