6 Tips for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party

August 28, 2025 | Disney

I recently attended the second MNSSHP of the year dressed as the Evil Queen, and wow—this party is everything magical about Disney with a spooky twist! From candy trails to exclusive shows, here’s my insider guide for making the most of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party so you can see and do as much as possible!

 1. Plan Your Party Night

  • MNSSHP is separate ticketed admission, usually 7 PM to midnight. But you can get in as early as 4:00 pm.

  • Arrive early if you want character photos, they won’t get shorter as the night goes on! Also some special merch just for the party may sell out.

  • Pick up a party map—it’s your guide to candy stations, shows, and character meet-and-greets.

2. Costumes are Key

  • I went as the Evil Queen, and it was a total hit! But it is also Florida and hot, so i wore a tank dress, some ears, cute purse, and comfy shoes!

  • Adults can dress as Disney characters (masks covering the face aren’t allowed).

  • Group costumes = epic photo ops!

Pro Tip: Don’t be afraid to go all in—your costume is part of the magic! But remember it gets HOT.

3. Trick-or-Treat Like a Pro

  • Candy stations are everywhere along the trick-or-treat trails.

  • Adults can join in too—Disney encourages everyone to get in the Halloween spirit!

  • Allergy-friendly candy is available, so everyone can participate safely.

Insider Tip: Trails are PACKED early on. Wait until 10:30 or 11:00 and you will walk right in!

4. Don’t Miss the Shows

  • Mickey’s “Boo-to-You” Parade: Floats, villains, and characters in Halloween attire. (I got some fun Evil Queen photos here!) The parade runs twice during the party!

  • Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular: The Sanderson sisters meet Disney villains in a hilarious showdown. This show happens multiple times per party, check your map for times!

  • Special Fireworks: Spooky music + magical pyrotechnics = unforgettable! Happens once per party.

5. Ride Magic

  • Some attractions get Halloween overlays, like Space Mountain.

  • Lines are often shorter during MNSSHP—perfect time to hop on your favorites.

  • Sometimes characters dressed in their Halloween best will ride, too!

6. Tips From Me

  • Wear comfortable shoes—you’ll be walking all night.

  • Stay hydrated; it can get warm even in the evening.

  • Plan your parade and fireworks viewing—multiple showtimes mean you can avoid peak crowds.

  • Bring a camera or phone fully charged—the photo ops are endless!

Why MNSSHP is Worth It

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is more than candy and costumes. It’s a chance to immerse yourself in Disney magic, see your favorite characters in a new light, and make memories that last a lifetime. Dressing as the Evil Queen made it feel like I was part of the story—and the photos are some of my fave!

Final Tip: Go with the mindset of fun, magic, and a little mischief. That’s what makes MNSSHP unforgettable!

This past summer, we learned how real dog anxiety This past summer, we learned how real dog anxiety can be. (Ad)

After a really stressful week with a new sitter (who wasn’t a great fit and left her alone far too long), Dolly started coping the only way she knew how — nonstop licking. What started as “normal anxious behavior” turned into a raw wound that required a vet visit, meds, and constant care.

We changed a few things in her routine, and we also added NaturVet Daily Emotional Support Calming Supplements into her daily support. The difference has been incredible. She’s settled, sleeping better, no more licking, and truly back to her happy, goofy self.

I’m sharing this for anyone whose dog struggles with stress, separation, or big changes. You’re not overreacting. Their anxiety is real — and it deserves real support. 🤍

You can find @naturvet Daily Emotional Support Calming Supplements at select Walmart stores, and they’ve been such a gentle, helpful part of Dolly’s healing.

I was so tired of dragging around heavy, clunky ba I was so tired of dragging around heavy, clunky bags on my trips! ✈️

So I invested in the Carry-On from @hulkenbag! It’s lightweight, sleek, and glides effortlessly wherever I go. It has 4 pockets and opens from the top, so it’s very easy to grab things in flight! I’ve got room for everything I need and can fit all my devices, snacks, books, and a neck pillow seamlessly inside.

I always pair my Carry-On with the Schlep Stack because who has time to dig through a messy bag? 👜✨

Trust me, Hulken is a total game-changer!

The beaches of Alabama are the kind of place where the days feel slow, the kids are happy, and you don’t feel like you need a vacation after your vacation.

Alabama beaches in the spring just make sense.
