May Disney World Trip and Cruise Part 1

May 17, 2012 | Disney, family, Travel, Uncategorized

As you probably know, Bobby and I just got back from a long vacation. Bobby had not been to Disney since September and we hadn’t cruised together in a year (I went on a 3 day work cruise in March) so we were excited about the opportunity to unplug and have a nice long trip together. We first sailed on a 5 night cruise to Key West, Nassau, and Disney’s private island Castaway Cay, and then spent 4 nights in WDW.

We got on the Disney Magic at lunchtime and were able to snag Palo brunch reservations before heading to lunch. The weather was beautiful so we were able to eat outside and not sweat to death (seriously we had gorgeous weather the entire time!)

We walked around the ship and took pictures while we waited for our cabin to be ready.

Before long it was time to head to our rooms. I was ready to ditch my carry on bag and start getting our luggage so we could unpack. We were in a deluxe oceanview stateroom with a verandah on the 6th deck. (6130) I highly recommend this room if you are looking for a specific number. It was clean and everything was in working order, and our hall was very very quiet.

Split bath, which I love having!

We headed to the sail away party up on deck

Then we walked around some more and found the ping pong and fooseball tables up on the deck, where we ended up spending MANY hours during the course of the trip. Let’s just say Bobby didn’t know I had a fooseball table for awhile growing up and that I am pretty darn good if I do say so myself. Eventually it was time for dinner.

We were lucky enough to snag a private table at our seating, score!

Our server made us hats to end the evening. Way sexy.

After dinner we went to the adult’s only area/club and played a really fun scavenger hunt game where I ended up taking off my bra through my dress in front of everyone and giving it to Bobby to wear on stage…don’t ask. We also watched match your mate (kind of like the newlywed game where all the men always end up getting into trouble). We laughed and laughed and had a great time and then went to bed for our first night, ready to tackle Key West the next day!

QOTD: Who will be watching the Grey’s Anatomy finale tonight? Who do you think will die? What about American Idol? Who’s going home?

This really makes me want to go on another Disney Cruise! We haven’t been since July 2009. Grad school and not living in FL makes it a lot harder. Hopefully we will be back in Fl soonish. So happy you all had a great time.

Can you get those napkin hats in wicking material?

Grey’s finale? Death? oh no… the last episode I saw was the season that Denny was there. Yep, way back then. Maybe they’ll bring him back to die again.

The beaches of Alabama are the kind of place where the days feel slow, the kids are happy, and you don’t feel like you need a vacation after your vacation.

Alabama beaches in the spring just make sense.

2016 was a VERY big year for us. Moving states. Running multiple businesses. Being accused of getting a divorce. 🤣🫣 People are wild, yall.

Looking back they were some hard, wild times and I now know more hard times were ahead for us, but I wouldn’t change any of it. I know it’s part of our story, God had a plan, and there is a reason for it all. Just gotta keep keeping on! ❤️
