Weekly Recap: October Week 4

October 27, 2012 | fitness, running

Well friends, another interesting week for me. I am still having some medical issues, and have an appointment with the cardiologist tomorrow, so please say a prayer everything comes back ok!

Because of some of the issues I have been having, Bobby and I took it easy this week. We also knew we were running a half marathon Saturday (yesterday) and so we didn’t want to tire ourselves out, and rest was probably best anyway!

My newest bling

Sunday: rest

Monday: 3 mile run, upper body weights, 15 minutes stationary bike

Tuesday: 6 mile run, upper body weights

Wednesday: rest

Thursday: went for a walk

Friday: rest

Saturday: Half marathon

—————————-

miles run: 22

cross training: X’s 2

weights: x’s 2

I am home for another week then out of town again, then another half marathon (Disney Wine and Dine) so I will get in a couple runs this week, but then next week will be easy again because I will be out of town and “tapering” for yet another race. It will slow down at some point right? I kid. I love it.

Be looking for a recap of the Jazz Half marathon tomorrow. It has quiet an interesting ending, you won’t want to miss it.

QOTD: Do you taper before a race? Any race or just longer distances?

I taper for anything longer than a half. I find not running or running very few miles to be hard but I know it helps for race day.

I hope everything goes well tomorrow! I taper for my longer distance races (half marathon and marathon), but don’t really find it necessary for the shorter ones.

I only really taper for a half or full Marathon. I ran in a 5K this past sat and I didn’t really taper. I lowered the intensity, but that all. In college xc we never tapered much either.

#ad Turns out my patio didn’t need a full makeover #ad Turns out my patio didn’t need a full makeover… it just needed the right planters 🌿

I walked into @loweshomeimprovement (garden center = instant mood boost) and found these allen + roth & planters that look designer but are actually budget-friendly. Exactly the kind of upgrade I love: big impact without the big price tag.

Swipe to see the before → after because WOW. New planters + fresh plants completely brought this space back to life. I love how versatile they are too, perfect for patios, porches, or even indoors. If your outdoor space is looking a little… tired (same 😅), this is your sign to refresh it for spring.

Grab them in-store at Lowe’s or through the link in my bio 🔗

Tour of a 2 bedroom villa at Disney’s Saratoga Spr Tour of a 2 bedroom villa at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa in Walt Disney World! ☀️

Things we love about staying in a 2 BR villa as opposed to a “regular” hotel room:
-Tons of space (we shared with my parents)
-full kitchen/full fridge and freezer
-washer and dryer
-full living room and dining area
-multiple bathrooms

Things we ❤️ about this resort in general:
-Can walk to Disney Springs from certain buildings
-Multiple pools and slides
-cheaper than most other villas
-Rooms seem more spacious than some villas
-Peaceful/golf course/lots of landscaping/walking paths
-Has a spa!

It’s Friday. Jesus is praying. Peter’s a sleeping. It’s Friday.
Jesus is praying.
Peter’s a sleeping.
Judas is betraying.
But Sunday’s comin’.

It’s Friday.
Pilate’s struggling.
The council is conspiring.
The crowd is vilifying.
They don’t even know that Sunday’s comin’.

It’s Friday.
The disciples are running
Like sheep without a shepherd.
Mary’s crying.
Peter is denying.
But they don’t know that Sunday’s a comin’.

It’s Friday.
The Romans beat my Jesus.
They robe him in scarlet.
They crown him with thorns.
But they don’t know that Sunday’s comin’.

It’s Friday.
See Jesus walking to Calvary.
His blood dripping.
His body stumbling.
And his spirit’s burdened.
But you see, it’s only Friday.
Sunday’s comin’.

It’s Friday.
The world’s winning.
People are sinning.
And evil’s grinning.

It’s Friday.
The soldiers nail my Savior’s hands to the cross.
They nail my Savior’s feet to the cross.
And then they raise him up next to criminals.

It’s Friday.
But let me tell you something,
Sunday’s comin’.

It’s Friday.
The disciples are questioning.
What has happened to their King.
And the Pharisees are celebrating
That their scheming has been achieved.
But they don’t know It’s only Friday.
Sunday’s comin’.

It’s Friday.
He’s hanging on the cross.
Feeling forsaken by his Father.
Left alone and dying.
Can nobody save him?
Ooooh It’s Friday.
But Sunday’s comin’.

It’s Friday.
The earth trembles.
The sky grows dark.
My King yields his spirit.
It’s Friday.
Hope is lost.
Death has won.
Sin has conquered and Satan’s just a laughin’.

It’s Friday.
Jesus is buried.
A soldier stands guard.
And a rock is rolled into place.
But it’s Friday. It is only Friday.
Sunday is a comin’! ☀️

For spring break we headed to South Louisiana to v For spring break we headed to South Louisiana to visit family, and it was the peaceful, non hurried time I didn’t know I needed.

We fished, collected chicken eggs, rode golf carts, had target practice, went for walks, played games, danced, laughed, stayed up late, and watched the sunrise. EK lived her best country girl life, casting like a pro and learning how to unhook the fish. She hung out in the chicken coop, and stayed outside all day long. ☀️❤️

One day we had a mini family reunion and were blessed with perfect weather. I wanted to slow down time and make it last longer, but it just means we have to do it again. 🥰 So thankful for so much love in my life!
