Christmas Day 2012

December 26, 2012 | family, holidays

Good morning! I am so thrown off with Christmas being in the middle of the week, today is Thursday right? Looking back at my photos, I really did have a great Christmas, I just wish it wouldn’t have gone by so quickly. The 26th always makes me so sad. At least this year I have going to Disney in a couple weeks for Goofy to look forward to! Here is a recap of my Christmas day.

We woke up at my parents house and opened presents together in the living room. It was sadly hot, muggy, and rainy so no Christmas morning fire in the fireplace. The Christmas music was playing though, and it was great to just relax with the family. (It rained last year on Christmas day, too!)

I got Bobby a new grill because ours is literally disintegrating.

Then, I made breakfast like every year, cream cheese Danish.

Then we all got dressed and drove to my cousins house to be with my mom’s side of the family.

This is after lunch. We fill up these three tables!

All the female cousins and girlfriends/wives

We ate lunch and hung out exchanging gifts, then went home. It was sad to go because some of the family that was there I only get to see every other year. My sister drove back to Texas, and Bobby and my parents and I ate dinner and celebrated my moms birthday, she’s a Christmas baby!

After cake, we played Battle of the Sexes, (it’s SO FUNNY the things guys just don’t know!) and were all exhausted so we went to sleep early. I almost didn’t want to go to bed because I didn’t want the day to be over! I hope everyone had a fabulous and fun Christmas with their family and friends! I am counting down to next year already.

QOTD: What was your favorite thing you did on Christmas?

This year was the first year my nearly 3 year old started to “get” the whole presents thing. He and my 10 month old had so much fun, it was great to watch them and my brother’s kids play together.

Looks like you had a great time with family!

I’ve seen the Battle of the Sexes game commercial on TV and thought it looked like it would be a lot of fun to play.

My favorite thing that I did on Christmas day was to build a snowman, even if it was tiny and a little sad looking. We ended up having a White Christmas here in Texas!

Happy Holidays! A Christmas with family and a Garmin sounds good to me! If you feel sad on the 26, you all can come to Puerto Rico where the Holidays don’t end until the second week of January.

It looks like you had a great Christmas! I hope you like the Garmin 10. It looks like it was pretty popular this year. I wanted Christmas to come so that Disney could be the next thing I’m looking forward to. I can’t wait!! It’s going to be my first marathon.

Turning 40 has me reflecting a lot — where I thought I’d be, where I actually am, and what “success” really means. Who is in charge of making those rules anyway? 👀

I don’t have it all figured out. But I’m learning that I’m not behind. I’m exactly where I’m meant to be.
And if you’re struggling with this too… you’re not alone. 💛

It’s beautiful, sophisticated, and very nostalgic. The attention to detail is astounding!

You can even purchase a fireworks package and sip and dine while watching the show with the music piped in and lights dimmed.

My fave? The brown butter old fashioned, complete with spaceship earth stamped ice cube. 🧊 🥃

Reservations can be made 60 days in advance on the Walt Disney World app, and walk-ins are not accepted at this time.

I will admit it’s pricey, so something I would save for a special occasion! Very cool experience though and would 10/10 go again!
