Be Prepared

Catching up? Here are the weekend’s posts:

The Moving Story Part II

YMCA

Confession time: I ate a TON of crappy food today, and it was totally avoidable if I had done a little planning. This morning my mom and I left to drive three hours up to my old house to give it a good deep clean. Then we drove back all in one day, in the pouring rain. again. It was a very long day on the road (6 hours! I drove all of it!) and I didn’t prepare for food and snacks. I DID bring a small cooler for bottled waters and a couple of breakfast bars…..but that’s as far as it went. Keep in mind I am TOTALLY embarrassed to admit this, but this is what I ate today.

1 cup of coffee with hazelnut creamer

1 breakfast bar

2 Taco Bell tacos and an order of nachos with a coke

a double cheeseburger and fries and a coke icee from Burger King

a cupcake

a small Dairy Queen butterfingers blizzard

a mini cupcake

2 bites of chicken ravioli

a bottle of water.

Oh. my. gosh. I think I am going to be sick. I am so embarrassed!!!! How did this happen? Well, I will TELL you how. I chose to NOT be prepared for a long car trip. I would have let myself have one fast food meal, but two? and a blizzard? with cupcakes?!? Way over my limit. I am angry at myself for allowing this to happen. I KNOW better than this. I could have brought healthy snacks to eat in between my one fast food meal like:

an apple or grapes

string cheese

almonds

a sandwich

and I could have chosen to stop somewhere like Subway instead of Taco Bell. I was so worried about remembering all of my cleaning supplies this morning I didn’t even think about food. Please don’t make the same mistake I did. Think ahead when you are going on a long car trip and bring snacks accordingly!

Although I had an eating fiasco today, we DID spend three solid hours cleaning the house and it looks great!

hello!!!!

Tomorrow my goals are as follows

1.) Go get groceries

2.) Go for a run

3.) Eat healthy!!!

QOTD: What healthy snacks do you bring with you when you travel?

Oops!!! Eating on the go can be pretty tough! You can start over tomorrow! 🙂 When I travel I usually try to bring bananas, granola bars, and mixed nuts.

Healthy food for traveling? Lol. We majorly junk out on road trips. Lol. Always have. Chips, cookies, etc. sometimes trail mix and fruit, though. That’s healthy. 🙂

Hey, you had a bad day – you’ve been working your butt off with moving. I think you can let the bad day slip. Although, I completely understand how you are feeling right now. I’ve started paying more attention to what/when/why I eat and sometimes I look back and am shocked at what I decided to eat. But you redeemed yourself by getting down and dirty with your house cleaning!

For road trips I like fruit, cheese sticks, granola, trail mix, etc. Oh, and we always have some sort of junk food (sour patch kids, skittles, chip) – just because!

Thanks for being honest about having a bad eating day! It happens to everybody, especially when they are traveling, moving, and stressed out. I hate when running bloggers say they ate terribly, and then they say that they shouldn’t have eaten that extra apple, because they really didn’t need it. Talk about making other people feel like their idea of “eating terribly” is different from theirs!

I bet you ate better today.

Some days, the scoreboard doesn’t look the way we Some days, the scoreboard doesn’t look the way we want it to, but that doesn’t change how proud we are. ❤️

Yesterday we didn’t win the championship, but that didn’t stop us from remembering what really matters, that our daughter is an amazing human who deserves to be celebrated even on the tough days. 🍧

Parents, it’s SO easy to get wrapped up in the game. Let’s always remember that our kids’ worth isn’t measured by a trophy or a score. Celebrate them. Encourage them. Love them unconditionally. ✨

They are enough. Always. 💛

🏃‍♀️🌴 Running a 5K in paradise? Yes please. The C 🏃‍♀️🌴 Running a 5K in paradise? Yes please.

The Castaway Cay 5K was hands down one of our favorite memories from our @disneycruiseline cruise, just me and my girl, running along the most beautiful island with that Caribbean breeze and the bluest water cheering us on. It’s such a fun (and free!) way to experience Castaway Cay in a totally different way.

If you’re planning a cruise, this is your sign to do the 5K — even if you walk it! Grab water early, go first thing before it gets too hot, and don’t forget to stop for pictures because you won’t want to forget this one! 🏅

If you’re ready to book your own Disney cruise, I’d love for you to use my link in my bio and plan through Best Day Ever Vacation. It’s completely free to have the book for you and they have over 1000 5 star reviews! 🤍

🚨 Right now there’s an incredible deal: 20% off select voyage fares PLUS a $250 onboard credit 🙌
That onboard credit can go toward excursions, specialty dining, souvenirs, or spa time (yes please).

Let me know if you have questions about the 5K or cruising with kids, it truly was the best day ever! (Make sure you use my link in bio to get your free quote so they know that I sent you!!)
