Friday Favorites: Weddings!

April 29, 2011 | Uncategorized

It’s Friday, Friday……ok I will not have that song stuck in my head all day, again! Anyway, I will admit I was NOT one of the millions of people who woke up at 3 AM for the wedding. I love weddings a LOT, but I also LOVE my sleep, and missing 4 hours of it is a lot, especially when we have this nice contraption called TiVo that I could use and record the whole thing and watch later/fast forward through the boring parts. Sneaky eh?

Anyway, I haven’t watched yet but I did see replays on TV and it looks beautiful, Kate looked beautiful! I cannot IMAGINE what was going through her head knowing how much her life is about to change! How exciting! This, of course, got me thinking about my past and my future. What exactly do I mean?

Past:

and HOPEFULLY something I will have in my future…a Disney vow renewal!

My dream is to have a vow renewal, possibly at the wedding pavilion, and a reception or dessert party outdoors at my favorite hotel, the Grand Floridian.

Yes I had done research, yes I have several ideas. If I was rich I would do if for our 5 year next year, but, I am not, so hopefully we can afford to do it for our ten year in 2017. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVED my wedding and had a blast, but I didn’t get to have my Disney wedding and I am determined to get it one day!

Here are some more wedding related posts I have written:

4 Years with my Best Friend

Wedding Season

5 Years Ago Today…

Thanks for indulging me with my ideas and pictures on this post! I wish Kate and William a lifetime of happiness!

Ok, switching gears. Yesterday was BEAUTIFUL and I ran 3 miles.

It was cool out, but still very sunny, and well…I sweat a lot. It is beautiful again today so I am about to go run again! I just can’t help it! Catch ya later!

QOTD: Have you ever thought about having a vow renewal?

Oh my goodness… your dress was gorgeous and you were completely radiant! Oh my gracious, seriously fabulous! Our dresses were really pretty similar which makes me smile (mine was strapless, though).

And girl, I am all about vow renewals! We actually renew our vows every year on our anniversary. Our first anniversary we went to St Louis and renewed our vows in the Cathedral Basilica. This past year we went to New Orleans and renewed our vows outside at the St Louis Cathedral. This coming year we will be on a cruise so we will either renew our vows at sea or somewhere in Cozumel. We don’t do a big thing – just the two of us and our vows and sometimes a couple of curious on lookers. We want to do the all-out-vow-renewal for our 10 year, though! Disney sounds like the definite magical place to do it too! We went to Orlando for our honeymoon so that would be crazy great! 🙂

    • Heather says

      May 3, 2011 at 10:44 am

thank you! I loved my dress! the only reason I didnt go strapless was b/c I have a bad back and that dress was SO HEAVY in the strapless version and put so much pressure on my back so i opted for the strapped version!

thats so neat how you renew your vows every year! I wanted a disney wedding but it didnt work out so I am determined to get a disney vow renewal! Talk about a fairytale and very magical! they have so many options too. only 5.5 more years to wait HA!

If you’re planning a trip to Florida’s Forgotten C If you’re planning a trip to Florida’s Forgotten Coast, save this one. 🌊 #RentingTheCoastPartner

We stayed at Singing Waves in Cape San Blas, and it was everything we wanted in a beach getaway: beautiful views, plenty of space, and the kind of place that makes you slow down and actually enjoy vacation.

What really stood out, though, was Renting the Coast. They’re a locally owned, family run company that manages vacation homes throughout Cape San Blas, Port St. Joe, Mexico Beach, and the surrounding Forgotten Coast communities.

Instead of managing hundreds of properties, they intentionally keep their inventory smaller so they can provide a more personal experience for both guests and homeowners. They’re known for being accessible, responsive, and focused on making sure every stay goes smoothly.

If Cape San Blas has been on your travel list, Singing Waves is absolutely worth checking out, and so is Renting the Coast’s collection of homes along Florida’s most underrated stretch of coastline. ☀️

I didn’t realize how much mental space hair removal was taking up until it just… wasn’t anymore. Between games, trips, and everything in between, having something I can do at home in minutes has been a total game changer. The app-guided treatments keep me consistent without having to think about it, and I’m already noticing smoother skin that actually lasts. And yes — the full-body, 10-minute-at-home situation still feels a little unreal.

If you’ve been on the fence, Prime Day (June 14–27) is definitely the moment to check it out with $120 off. #BraunSmartIPL

We didn’t set out looking for a “perfect” trip… we We didn’t set out looking for a “perfect” trip… we just needed a break from the noise.
What we found in Florida was something better than that. #ad

Our first stop in Auburndale was all about slowing down in the best way. We stayed in a cozy tiny home at Camp Margaritaville (you can also stay in an RV!). We enjoyed coffee on the porch, our daughter loved the pool and waterslide (there is even a splash zone for the littles!), and at night we slowed things down with s’mores instead of screens. It felt like nature + comfort + family time all finally in the same place. They have so many other amenities like mini golf, golf cart rentals, pickleball, a playground, cornhole, and more. Nearby, we explored the Florida Children’s Museum and had incredible food and drinks at Smith’s American Tavern and Black & Brew Coffee.

Then, we headed over to Fort Myers to experience a completely different side of the state. Shelling walks at sunrise, beach volleyball, pool cabanas, and the kind of Gulf sunsets that make everyone go quiet for a minute. Direct beach access at the Margaritaville Beach Resort Fort Myers made it effortless to go from “let’s check it out” to toes in the sand in minutes. There were several restaurants on property, so we never even got in our car. That plus live music, fire pits, the spa, and lawn games made it easy to want to stay put and relax.

What stood out most wasn’t just the scenery… it was how easy it was to actually be together here. No rushing or overplanning. That’s the true Floridays feeling for me. Laid-back, a little unexpected, and exactly what we didn’t know we needed. 🌴☀️
