Disclosure: We were provided a comped stay at the Mercantile Hotel New Orleans, however, all opinions are my own.
As someone who grew up in the New Orleans area, I have done a lot of things in the city, so I love when something “new” comes along so that I can try it out! For me on this trip, it was the Mercantile Hotel. Situated in the warehouse district, this trendy boutique hotel of all suites is a great option for families visiting the city. Let me share my top 4 reasons to stay here.
1.) Huge rooms
As I mentioned earlier, all the rooms here are suites. The one we were in had a great living room with a sofa sleeper, a desk, and a wet bar with a coffee maker.
The bathroom was bright and spacious with a light in the mirror. The bedroom had a king bed with funky and fun exposed brick and views of the city. Since my husband had to work, it was nice he could set up his computer at the desk and I could shut the bedroom door and not hear him on the phone, ha!
2.) Lounge spaces
I love that for a smaller hotel, they have plenty of spaces to just hang out! There is a beautiful bar right in the lobby, with a large seating area behind it. Then, at the back of the hotel is a communal hang-out spot with a TV, games, and fun decorations. I wish we had more time to just chill here! Would be a great place to set up a laptop and work or read a book!
3.) Easy to use Valet parking
Like most other hotels in the city, there is no self-parking. However, I loved the system they used for valeting your car at the Mercantile Hotel New Orleans! There was a phone number we had to text when we wanted our car pulled around and then they would text us back with an estimated time. Then we just went downstairs and got the keys from the front desk. So easy!
4.) Great location
As I mentioned, this hotel is in the warehouse district. It’s a bit of a walk to the French Quarter but doable, and close to Poydras/Harrah’s Casino. But there are so many great places that are super close too! The Riverwalk area and Convention Center is nearby as we as a ton of great shops and restaurants. I loved the location!
Next time you are planning to visit the big easy, be sure to check out the Mercantile Hotel New Orleans!
