When visiting Central Florida, you have an abundance of options for where to stay. While I don’t think there is a “wrong” answer and it truly depends on your family needs, budget, and vacation style, I wanted to offer an option that I think a lot of people just don’t know about, or think would be way out of their price range.
We worked with Dreams n Fun Vacation Homes on our visit to Florida in November, and we were very impressed with what you get for the price and proximity to the resort areas and local attractions. We stayed at a home in the Windsor Hills neighborhood, which has a super nice pool and water slides that we had access to during our stay. The neighborhood is gated, and super close to grocery stores and restaurants should you need them. We were about 15 minutes from WDW and took an Uber there the days we stayed in the townhouse.
The townhouse we stayed in had 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, a private pool, full kitchen, washer and dryer, TV’s in every bedroom, and tons of space to spread out. Sounds like this would cost around $700 a night right? Wrong! The price for this home in the season we stayed (November) was around $135 a night plus tax. SAY WHAT?! For less than a value resort on property yes, you get 3 bedrooms and your own pool. I was blown away.
Missing that Disney feel? Don’t worry, this particular home had a Toy Story themed room and bathroom that Emma Kate LOVED! She felt right at home and so special in this room. It was so nice coming back after a day in the parks to just spread out and chill, shower when we wanted (3 bathrooms!) and order Uber Eats.
Don’t get me wrong, I love staying on Disney property, it is truly magical, but it’s also expensive and cramped unless you can afford a large villa. We had the best of both worlds with just a short drive for a fraction of the cost. Next time you are planning a trip to Florida and think it’s just too expensive for your family, don’t count it out until you contact the kind folks at Dreams n Fun, they can find you something to fit your family’s needs!
