Disney Day 4 September 2011

October 14, 2011 | Uncategorized

Happy Friday! I am so happy to be home for the weekend. I am still playing catch up around the house before I go out of town again next week. Bobby and I had our first post race run last night, and it was not pretty. We ran three miles really s-l-o-w-l-y. It felt good to get out and do something even if it wasn’t an ideal training run. (More on this later.)

I left off on my vacation posts after the Wishes fireworks show. The next day we went to breakfast at Boma at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. The food was good as usual, but the service was incredibly slow. Everyone around us was complaining about our server. This is actually the second time we have had this server and she was just as slow last time, but the good food is worth it!

We had a fun day planned at Typhoon Lagoon. Bobby has only ever been to the Blizzard Beach waterpark, so we thought it would be fun for him to see this one and just have a nice, relaxing day in the sun.

I love waterparks, and this one is no exception. The Disney touches are cute, and the scenery is beautiful.

We found some chairs over by the wave pool and headed out to the slides.

We had a blast on Crush n Gusher, which is a water coaster that shoots you up and down and around, so fun! We hit a few other slides and then the lazy river which was really relaxing and beautiful. We had a running joke all day because there were SO many people speaking other languages…and so many different ideas of what an appropriate swimsuit for a waterpark was…holy thongs! It was kind of hard NOT to look when people are standing right in front of you in line, but wow I could never wear a swimsuit like that!

Bobby wanted to see what the fuss was over the wave pool, so I sat in the sun while he battled the waves.

The sun started to get the better of me after our late lunch, and we decided to head back to the hotel. We had dinner reservations at Yachtsman Steakhouse, one of our favorites, so we got dressed up and headed to the lounge for appetizers.

We made the same mistake we made the night before, and ate way too much. What’s new.

By time we got to dinner, we were both full and exhausted from being in the sun all day. It was so pathetic. We had been looking forward to this dinner for months and all we wanted to do was go to sleep! We decided to split a steak. Poor Bobby was so sunburned and tired.

we even got a free dessert, even though we were so stuffed we of course ate it.

…and may have gotten some more dessert back at the hotel…

I know. gluttons for punishment….or just…gluttons. We went for a run the next morning so I didn’t feel TOO bad about it!

QOTD: Do you like waterparks? What is your favorite one?

Waterparks are the best! If it has water and a park like theme, I’m there. 😉

I’m opposite of Bobby; I’ve only been to Typhoon Lagoon and never BB! Crush N Gusher is SO much fun! I want to go to BB and try Summit Plummet but I am pretty sure I would chicken out.

I’ve never been to the Disney waterparks! One of these days… Except I would probably be way too scared to try the Crush N Gusher!! Yum – the food looks fantastic!!

I’ve never been to a Disney waterpark, either! We just never have time for it when we go to WDW…I suspect when K gets older, we may have to go check them out. I’ve always wanted to try BB!

I feel the urge to make a comment that is, of course (stole your catch phrase), about food.

BACON…to Piglet: “I’m going to turn you into bacon….” ok, no that’s not what im referring to. I’m referring to Disney bacon. When so many things at Disney are awsome, why is the bacon so bad? I like thick sliced, crunch B A C O N. The stuff at Disney is really thin and usually not very crunch at all. It’s dripping in grease and flimsy. Bacon you buy at a basic grocery store is better.

We need a Disney Bacon revolution!!! ….sorry, long week and ive probably lost my mind by this point.

So fun! I haven’t been to the water parks since I was a kid, and I definitely want to go again.

I love the dress you wore to Yachtsman!
