Blogiversary Number 2

November 15, 2011 | Uncategorized

Two years ago today, I posted my first every blog post. A year ago, I celebrated my one year blogiversary. I cannot believe it has been two whole years since I first opened my life up for the world to read. What started as an accountability journal has blossomed into what I never thought or imagined.

My first half, 2010

My blog has been the starting point for so many things over the past two years. It is what ultimately helped me get my job at Running Skirts, and it has also allowed me to get to meet and network with some amazing people! I am so thankful and blessed when it comes to my little baby! (yes I treat an inanimate object like my child.)

I know I said this last year, but I have learned so much in the past two years. It is so much fun to go back and see what I was doing TWO years ago. I love having an account for my comings and goings, it’s like a grown up dear diary, but with lots of friends, encouragement, and love.

Thank you readers, for all the love and support you have shown me over the past two years. I love your comments and feedback, and your inspiration. You have helped me to become a better person, and I am so grateful I get to share my little corner of the internet with you. It has been a wild ride with many ups and downs, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.

still racing in 2011!

Are there things I wish had gone differently in the past two years? Of course. But I know God works in mysterious ways and has a reason for doing things the way He does. I am forever changing and growing, hopefully becoming a better writer, a better athlete, a better person. Thank you for being patient with me and for being an encouragement. I hope you stick around RWS this year and grow with me. I can’t wait to see what year three brings!

QOTD: Do you have a blog? if so, what would you like to accomplish with it this year? Post a certain number of times a week, take more pictures, get more readers, etc?

Happy Blogiversary! Very exciting! Thanks for the inspiration and insight you share with us all. I hope you have a fabulous third year!
Goals for my blog–since it is brand new (with a few older posts from our family blog thrown in for good measure) I am hoping to post regularly and get a few regular readers. My only real intention is to use it as a training log and a place to share my thoughts on what I am learning as I run.

I’d like to get more readers. I currently have 18 followers (of which, I personally know only one of them), which I am honestly surprised about! But then I see you ladies with hundreds of readers and comments on every blog – that’s what I want in 2012!

Happy Blogiversary, RWS!! I have been following for not quite a year (?) and I soooo enjoy reading your posts every day. Thank you so much for posting what you do. We are huge Disney fans, even with our boys being older now, I am a runner, and also an avid Runningskirts fan…so you are right up my alley! Congrats to you and keep on blogging for us! 🙂 Good Luck in 2012!! (You also make me think about starting my own blog…hmmm…)

If you’re planning a trip to Florida’s Forgotten C If you’re planning a trip to Florida’s Forgotten Coast, save this one. 🌊 #RentingTheCoastPartner

We stayed at Singing Waves in Cape San Blas, and it was everything we wanted in a beach getaway: beautiful views, plenty of space, and the kind of place that makes you slow down and actually enjoy vacation.

What really stood out, though, was Renting the Coast. They’re a locally owned, family run company that manages vacation homes throughout Cape San Blas, Port St. Joe, Mexico Beach, and the surrounding Forgotten Coast communities.

Instead of managing hundreds of properties, they intentionally keep their inventory smaller so they can provide a more personal experience for both guests and homeowners. They’re known for being accessible, responsive, and focused on making sure every stay goes smoothly.

If Cape San Blas has been on your travel list, Singing Waves is absolutely worth checking out, and so is Renting the Coast’s collection of homes along Florida’s most underrated stretch of coastline. ☀️

I didn’t realize how much mental space hair removal was taking up until it just… wasn’t anymore. Between games, trips, and everything in between, having something I can do at home in minutes has been a total game changer. The app-guided treatments keep me consistent without having to think about it, and I’m already noticing smoother skin that actually lasts. And yes — the full-body, 10-minute-at-home situation still feels a little unreal.

If you’ve been on the fence, Prime Day (June 14–27) is definitely the moment to check it out with $120 off. #BraunSmartIPL

We didn’t set out looking for a “perfect” trip… we We didn’t set out looking for a “perfect” trip… we just needed a break from the noise.
What we found in Florida was something better than that. #ad

Our first stop in Auburndale was all about slowing down in the best way. We stayed in a cozy tiny home at Camp Margaritaville (you can also stay in an RV!). We enjoyed coffee on the porch, our daughter loved the pool and waterslide (there is even a splash zone for the littles!), and at night we slowed things down with s’mores instead of screens. It felt like nature + comfort + family time all finally in the same place. They have so many other amenities like mini golf, golf cart rentals, pickleball, a playground, cornhole, and more. Nearby, we explored the Florida Children’s Museum and had incredible food and drinks at Smith’s American Tavern and Black & Brew Coffee.

Then, we headed over to Fort Myers to experience a completely different side of the state. Shelling walks at sunrise, beach volleyball, pool cabanas, and the kind of Gulf sunsets that make everyone go quiet for a minute. Direct beach access at the Margaritaville Beach Resort Fort Myers made it effortless to go from “let’s check it out” to toes in the sand in minutes. There were several restaurants on property, so we never even got in our car. That plus live music, fire pits, the spa, and lawn games made it easy to want to stay put and relax.

What stood out most wasn’t just the scenery… it was how easy it was to actually be together here. No rushing or overplanning. That’s the true Floridays feeling for me. Laid-back, a little unexpected, and exactly what we didn’t know we needed. 🌴☀️
