Wow, what a weekend! I survived Rouge Orleans with minimal damage, but it is not something I plan to do again anytime soon! We finished, and it was a hard fought battle. I have a ton of great stories and pictures to share, but they will have to wait. I only slept 1.5 hours from the time I got up at 5:30 am Saturday until I took a nap Sunday afternoon. I am tying this Sunday night and am in quite a zombie-like stare. For now I thought I would share some stats and pictures:
Number of miles run: approximately 21, exact numbers soon
Number of miles biked: 8.5
Number of hours slept: 1.5 over a 32 hour period
Number of times I peed on the side of the levee in the dark: 2
Temperature during my 8:30 pm leg: 36
Temperature during my 2:00 am leg: wind chill in the teens
Number of times we said “oh my gosh its so cold”: infinite
Number of cows tazed: zero, but I was prepared to defend against creatures attacking me!
QOTD: Be honest, did you think we would actually finish?!

Congrats :). I bet you’re really wiped out though, even though the distances themselves were short you had to run a LOT and also being in that van, you’re probably super sore! Glad you did it though, it sounds like it was a great experience, and I can’t wait to read the rest of your blogs about it.
Heather says

Congrats. I ran a relay in September and I found it was harder to recover from it than from any marathon I have done.
