Baby Pool Guessing

September 16, 2014 | family, pregnancy

Today I am officially 38 weeks pregnant! I have my weekly doctor’s appointment this morning, and I am quite anxious to hear what she has to say. Last week we discussed possible induction, but it will depend on how I am progressing. I would prefer to go into labor on my own, but also don’t want to go past my due date due to baby M’s already large size and my desire for a vaginal delivery.

Anyway, I will have my weekly update up tomorrow, but I thought it would be fun to do a baby pool. My fellow coworkers have started guessing so I thought an “official” pool would make things easier, and all of my blog readers can join in! There MAY even be a prize for the person who wins, so there is some incentive to get it right!

So how does it work? It’s easy, just go to baby M’s Baby Pool page and enter in your guesses for day, time, weight, etc. Should be fun!

QOTD: Have you ever participated in or won a baby pool? Are you good at guessing things like this?

Well Heather, I am going to guess that you will deliver September 21st on my birthday. Lol
Baby M will be 20 inches long
Baby M will be 7 lbs 6 oz
I am thinking late in the evening you will go into labor.

Praying that you will have a safe and wonderful delivery experience!

be sure to put your guess in on the actual baby pool website (the link is in the post) so it will get counted! 🙂 Thanks for the well wishes!

I’d hold off on induction, if you can, those sonogram estimates are notoriously off – sometimes by as much as 2 pounds! I started labor naturally, and then had to get a pitocin “boost” because I wasn’t progressing, and OMG it was a million times worse than natural contractions. I don’t know your pain medication plans, but it was HARD to do it pain med free on pitocin. Just something to keep in mind.

I plan to get an epidural ASAP if I am induced. I am already over 3 cm dilated and 70% effaced, so she said it won’t be a problem to get it right away if I want. I have a low pain threshold so an epi was the plan all along anyway 🙂

Allow me to de-influence you. 💁🏻‍♀️ Sometimes we Allow me to de-influence you. 💁🏻‍♀️

Sometimes we (myself included) all need a little reminder that this app shows short snippets of the entirety of someone’s day and life. No one wants to post the boring, the ugly, the sad, but it’s there.

Be careful not to compare your life with the people you see online. A lot of the things you see are inaccurate or a stretch of the truth, or just the best of the best. That’s not reality and I want to make sure no one thinks that I am ever trying to portray some perfect life that doesn’t exist. I’m a hot mess 99% of the time, and that’s ok! 😜

I sometimes am still waiting on an adult to walk into the room to tell me what to do….and then I remember I AM the adult. 🤣

When we get down to it, we are all very similar. I love you guys.

From laying out my workout clothes to packing my daughter’s basketball bag… and yes, remembering my vitamins — staying proactive just makes life run smoother.

But I realized it shouldn’t just stop with me. My dogs are part of the family too. 💛 So when I’m grabbing our wellness essentials at select Walmart stores, I make sure to pick up our NaturVet pet supplements right from the Pet Health aisle.

At home, it’s simple: I get my vitamins and supplements, and they get theirs. Staying a step ahead means taking care of all of us — two-legged and four-legged. 🐶✨
