Disclosure: This post on best spring break lodging is sponsored by Gulf Shores & Orange Beach Tourism, however, all opinions are my own.
My little family travels a lot, since we value experiences over things. This means we have stayed in many different locations sprinkled up and down the Alabama gulf coast over the years. With spring break coming up, I wanted to share three of my favorite places to stay in coastal Alabama. There are many more listed on this website, so be sure to check it out as well. Enjoy!
The Beach Club Resort and Spa
I started vacationing at The Beach Club when I was in college. My parents took us, and we got hooked and have been back many times since! I have so many wonderful memories, and love how it’s close to many things, but also a little more secluded and private. At The Beach Club, you can rent a condo in one of four high rises, or one of several cottages that sit just behind the buildings. There are different sizes of condos, depending on the needs of your family. I love that each condo is decorated differently depending on the owners tastes, and you can see them all on the rental website, so there is no guessing game when you arrive.
I also love how easy it is to walk downstairs from your beautiful condo to the beach. You can rent chairs and umbrellas there as well! Each condo building has its’s own pool. There is a clubhouse in the middle which also has a pool that you can have access to if you book directly through Spectrum. (Many other perks of doing so as well!) The clubhouse is also where crafts are hosted, music, a bar, the Coast restaurant, and the spa.
During the summer months, the front lawn is buzzing with activity. Live music, games, food trucks, and other entertainment abounds. Not your thing? Check out the tennis courts, fitness center, indoor pool, walking paths, and even a playground! Near the front lawn you will also find shopping, another restaurant, and an ice cream shop. There is so much to do here, you don’t even have to leave!
The Lodge at Gulf State Park
The Lodge at Gulf State Park is great for spring break lodging if you want a little bit more of a quiet scene. It is literally located in the state park, and is full of wonderful sustainable amenities. It is right on the gulf, and also has an outdoor pool, restaurant (amazing breakfast buffet!) and event space. It is a Hilton hotel, and has buildings designed to reduce energy by 32%! The floor to ceiling glass windows in the lobby even have bird friendly measures built into the design. Directly across from the Lodge you can go walking or biking for miles in the state park!
The pool uses recycled water collected from condensation from the HVAC unit. How cool is that?! I think that was my favorite fun fact about this beautiful hotel.
TownePlace Suites Foley at OWA
While not technically on the beach, I had to mention TownePlace Suites Foley as it is walking distance from OWA, a dining, shopping, rides, indoor waterpark, and entertainment area in Foley. We love OWA, and love being able to eat, shop, and enjoy the many events and activates at this destination, and then at the end of a long day, have the ability to walk a few hundred feet to our room!
This hotel has a nice, free breakfast which is a really great perk. While it does not have an outdoor pool, it does have an indoor one which is great on a rainy day. The rooms are spacious, and contain a full kitchen! We love having a place for leftovers (and to warm them up later!) There is also a fitness center, and free onsite self parking at this hotel, all great amenities for spring break lodging!
As I mentioned before, there are so many great places to stay along the Alabama coast, so be sure to check out a more exhaustive list here. I hope my list helps you to narrow down your vacation spot! As always, I am happy to answer any questions you may have. Have a great trip!
