BIC Band Giveaway

August 16, 2011 | Uncategorized

Goooooooooddd MORNING! I am back in Mississippi, and busy busy busy.  Sunday I drove to my parents house for a retailer visit Monday, and after the rain I saw the most BEAUTIFUL rainbow. Very rarely have I ever seen one from end to end, all the way across. I do not recommend trying to take a picture and driving like I was…do as I say not as I do, people.

God painted a beautiful rainbow!

My mom and I went to see the Help after visiting my potential store, and while it was a good movie, the book is better. So, if you liked the movie and haven’t read the book I highly recommend it! My mom also drove me by the house my dad grew up in in New Orleans. It was cool to see and hear stories from her about driving by his house before they started dating when she “liked” him, and he just happened to be outside cutting grass so she ducked down in the seat. How funny!

After, when I dropped my mom off at home, I got to see my NOLA girl! She is getting so big and growing “real” dog fur now.

I can’t believe Healthy Living Summit is SO close. I am finally starting to get excited. It seemed so far away when I bought my ticket! Lots to do before I leave though! Like….host a BIC Band giveaway!

In case you haven’t heard of these nifty little things, let me enlighten you. Bic Bands stands for “Because I can” bands.  So cool! Here is more:

B.I.C. Bands are headbands that will not slip~ (SERIOUSLY!) They are great for any workout, a trip to the coffee shop, going out with friends, work….
you name it, your B.I.C. Band will keep your hair looking FAB! They are headbands that stay in place and help others win their race!

B.I.C. Bands gives back to those in need with every purchase!

Also, really, they don’t slip, I love them! And, way stylish, right?

Yes, you read that right folks. For every band sold, they give a dollar to charity. How COOL! This months’ charity is the Leukemia and Lymphoma society/Team in Training (which of course you all know I am training for!) So, if you have been pondering buying one, please do it this month! I plan to buy some this month and save them for Christmas gifts. GREAT stocking stuffers! They have a ton of cool colors and patterns too. Go to their website and check them out!

Guess what? Because the people at BIC bands are so awesome, they have given me bands to review and one to giveaway to a reader! This free band, score!

How cute? It’s SPARKLY! And it can be yours! here’s how:

1.) MANDATORY Be a follower of my blog (and tell me you are)

2.) Go to BIC Bands website and tell me your favorite band. (separate comment)

3.) Go to Bic Bands Facebook page, become a fan, and tell them Running With Sass sent you (separate comment)

4.) Retweet, post on your blog, or FB page (one separate comment each) Be sure to enter my twitter name @runningwithsass and my URL for retweets.

That’s it, easy-peasy and you can get a free BIC band! This giveaway will go until Thursday night, August 18th, at 8:00 Central time. I will post a winner Friday.

QOTD: Have you ever been to where your parents grew up?

I used to think dairy-free desserts were “just o I used to think dairy-free desserts were “just okay.” Like, fine in a pinch… but never something I craved. 👀

But then this little picnic happened—just me, my girl, and a sweet treat we both loved enough to fight over the last bite. 😅

We’ve been trying to be more mindful with food choices lately (especially with summer travel coming up), and I grabbed these So Delicious treats at Kroger kind of on a whim. The new packaging caught my eye, but it was the taste that totally surprised us. Creamy. Indulgent. No weird aftertaste. And no, we’re not fully dairy-free—and we still loved them.

It’s one of those little swaps that doesn’t feel like giving anything up.

And that? That’s a win for both of us. ✨@So_Delicious

🚨 Homeschool decision!! If you have been aroun 🚨 Homeschool decision!!

If you have been around here since Christmas time, then you know we pulled Emma Kate out of her private school after the first semester and put her in a hybrid homeschool for the spring. The main reason being we wanted more absences than the school allowed.

What is a hybrid? In our case, she went to a school all day 3 days a week, and we taught her at home two days a week.

It seemed like the best of both worlds, not having absences count since we were also her teachers, being able to stay home some, sleep in, and travel.

Well, it wasn’t all rainbows and butterflies. For one, the school we sent her to ended up not being what we thought. We were told being absent wouldn’t be a problem, but it became clear very early on her teacher was not a fan and she was not kind or accommodating to Emma Kate. There’s a lot of other reasons we didn’t blown the school I won’t go into. (If you are local and considering hybrid feel free to dm me and I will share my concerns and grievances.)

Teaching your kid is hard. There were lots of tears and frustrations, and she got bored since Bobby and I also work from home/I’m not a stay at hoke mom. We couldn’t just sit with her all day and teach her with our crazy long hours owning two businesses.

It was tough to keep a schedule and while getting to travel a lot was great, she didn’t thrive on not having a routine and struggled with the randomness of everything.

She is also a very social only child who missed her friends and also wants to play sports for her school.

In the end while there were a lot of pros to hybrid homeschool, the cons outweighed them for us so we are returning to her old school in the fall.

Am I glad we did it? Yes! I always would have wondered otherwise and now we know. We will still be pulling her out of school some to travel in the fall, just not as much.

If you have any questions feel free to drop them in the comments below and I will be happy to answer the best I can! 🩷
