Cabana at Disney’s Contemporary Resort

September 18, 2013 | Disney, Travel

On Monday, my friends and I rented a pool cabana at Disney’s Contemporary Resort.

contemporary cabana

You can rent for 4 hours or the whole day(10:00-2:00 is the first time slot) for $110 or $185 plus tax and we tipped as well. They had Cabanas by the main pool and then two out by Bay Lake by a quieter pool which is where we were located.

It was so great having the nice breeze blowing across the lake, and having a ceiling fan underneath. Our cabana host also closed one side of the tent for us to block out the sun.

The cabana comes with drinks in the refrigerator and a small fruit plate. There is also a television, and an iPod docking station with USB connector.

There were two padded lounge chairs, and two lounge beds that were big enough for two people each.

You can order drinks from the bar, food from the poolside counter service location, or even from private dining (takes more time). I had an amazing drink from the new bar menus you may see at the Disney resort pools.

You can have up to four people in your cabana, so it isn’t that expensive if you have some friends or another couple to share it with. We really enjoyed the quiet as well as the view from our cabana.

It was nice to be able to enjoy the sun then get in the shade under the fan when I needed a break. There is wi-fi at the pool so you can even bring your laptop.

I think it’d be great if I spent the whole day by the pool, especially for some post marathon time. But $110 is a lot and I’d rather spend it on dinner or lunch… or another night at the hotel!

if you have 4 people sharing it’s only $35 a person, and comes with a fruit tray and drinks so that can be breakfast 🙂

Well like you said, if you are with a small group or another couple, it is actually a pretty good deal. Talk about doing the Contemporary in style!

After a long run, I think that would be great, and $110 isn’t too bad if you’re splitting it between 4 people.

We are in Vegas for 6 weeks, and I have been VERY tempted to rent a cabana at many of the hotels, minus – on the strip they are EXPENSIVE. Two of our friends out here got free tickets to supposedly one of the best – $4,000 cabana rental for a day. Turns out it was weird and not as fun as one would think for paying that.

We might be renting at the old part of Vegas as their prices are much more doable and normal . I would jump on them if they were that price you paid! Hmm.. girls weekend during PHM 2014? ?

I know! I keep looking at my husband and saying ” see this is why Disney is better”

But here for work and unfortunately – work doesn’t send us to Disney lol.

Summer photo dump ☀️ Emma Kate starts school Summer photo dump ☀️

Emma Kate starts school tomorrow, so I guess summer is officially over. 😭 It’s bittersweet. I’m excited to be back into a routine and fall is my favorite, but I will miss lazy mornings and traveling on a whim and not having to help with homework. 😵‍💫

Here is a carousel of some of my favorite moments. From basketball tournaments to travels down to south Florida and back, Atlanta, Asheville, Tuscaloosa, Pigeon Forge, and all the way to Disneyland, and my 40th birthday plus 4th of July, tiny house camping and Opryland for Bobby’s birthday, we packed a lot into the past 2.5 months.

I never want to forget these special moments with my little family. Memories to last a lifetime that I thank God for. 🩷

Have your kids started school yet?

One of my favorite time (and money) savers? Grabbing a gift card at Kroger for one of our favorite spots (Zaxby’s for us!) and clipping the digital coupon for 4X fuel points.

That means dinner is DONE and I’m saving at the pump. Total win-win! 👏🏼 These gift cards are also perfect for teacher gifts, last-minute summer outings, or a first-day celebration meal. Smart moms know — gift cards give back 💡

BACKSTORY TIME! 🚘 I drove the same Toyota 4Ru BACKSTORY TIME! 🚘

I drove the same Toyota 4Runner for 14 1/2 years. Last October, we got a good deal on a Highlander platinum with 10,000 miles on it from @foxtoyota.

The only problem is, I wanted the Grand Highlander platinum, because it has way more cargo room, legroom, and some other features that the regular Highlander doesn’t have. I thought that’s what we were getting, but it wasn’t available and we ended up with the regular Highlander, which don’t get me wrong, I was very grateful for after driving the same car for so long.

However, as the months went on, the differences were very noticeable, especially with how much we travel and the lack of space. Without me knowing, Bobby had been doing research and working with the wonderful folks at Fox, and was able to find us a brand new Grand Highlander platinum.

He had hoped it would arrive for my birthday, but it was a couple weeks late, which was totally worth it. He’s usually really bad at surprising me (my 40th birthday party a couple weeks ago was supposed to be a surprise, but I found out.) so I was truly in shock and speechless when I came home and this new car, which we named Ruby, was in the garage!

@bobbymontg may not be the most romantic guy, but he shows his love in ways that he knows I appreciate. Best birthday gift ever! 🩷

While grabbing a few things at Walgreens, I picked up a Kohl’s gift card and turned it into the cutest teacher gift — a mason jar wrapped in ribbon, full of pencils with a tag that says “This year is going to be on point.” 🎯

It’s simple, thoughtful, and super practical — because who doesn’t love a gift they can actually use?

Walgreens makes it so easy to grab @incommpayments gift cards for everyone on your back-to-school list — from teachers to even yourself (because let’s be real, moms need a win too 😉).
