Christmas eve was very relaxed and a lot of fun. That morning I went shopping with my dad for a bit (he needed a gift for my mom, way to be last minute dad!) Then we did lots of cooking and baking and watching Christmas movies. Later, we got dressed for the Christmas eve service at church.
Making the same snickers cookies I make every year.
As usual, I was the first one in the car waiting on everyone else.
The church looked beautiful and the service was very nice.
After church, we had a great dinner at home while watching my favorite Christmas movie, the Santa Clause. Then, as we always do, we had my dad read the Christmas story from the Bible and we also read the Cajun night before Christmas.
Everyone was exhausted. My sister fell asleep before 8:30, and missed the readings entirely! We all went to sleep so Santa could come the next morning.

Looks like you had a lovely Christmas Heather!
A guest at the last hotel I worked at gave me a copy of the Cajun Night Before Christmas. I love it! It’s a classic. 😉

Heather says

I grew up in Louisiana so The Cajun Night Before Christmas has always been a staple in my family. Funny story…when my sister had her son (the 1st grandbaby) my mom passed along the book to her. I threw a fit and she reclaimed the book, searched for another copy with the same ISBN number and then gave us each the book. Neither of us know who has our original but we both love having it as part of our Christmas!

oh no that is too funny! What a story!
