Disney Day 3 September 2011

October 8, 2011 | Uncategorized

Happy Saturday! I am busy selling Running Skirts at Varsity Sports in Mandeville all day today, and will be running a half marathon in the morning with Team in Training! Tonight is our inspiration dinner, and my parents are coming, I can’t wait to go to it. I have heard great things about these dinners and hope it will pump us up for the race.

——————————————-

I thought today would be a good day to do some more recap from my September Disney vacation. We left off after the Saints game and Whispering Canyon Café dinner with some friends.

The next day, Monday, we went to the Magic Kingdom. All the fall decorations looked great…even though it was 90 degrees outside.

I was still really excited about the Saints win from the day before…

We rode Big Thunder Mountain, and decided to go over to Tom Sawyers Island. It was a hot day and we thought walking around in the shade of the trees, etc. would be a bit cooler. It was a lot of fun to explore the island!

why, hello mr. scary bird. I will move away slowly…

Bobby found it funny I had a hard time running across the barrel bridge…

We found some rocking chairs and sat down to relax for awhile.

Doesn’t the blue Bag look great on Bobby? I think so.

It was soon close to lunchtime, so we rode haunted mansion then headed to Liberty Tree Tavern. This is one of our favorite places. They have my favorite dessert, and really good turkey, dressing, and masked potatoes. We split the entrée and dessert and each got an appetizer.  I scarfed down that dessert so fast…oh it’s SO good.

After lunch, we rode Buzz Lightyear, the Peoplemover, the carousel of progress, and the Train.

Up next: Construction pictures of the New Fantasyland

QOTD: Would you rather order an appetizer or a dessert at a restaurant?

Turning 40 has me reflecting a lot — where I thought I’d be, where I actually am, and what “success” really means. Who is in charge of making those rules anyway? 👀

I don’t have it all figured out. But I’m learning that I’m not behind. I’m exactly where I’m meant to be.
And if you’re struggling with this too… you’re not alone. 💛

It’s beautiful, sophisticated, and very nostalgic. The attention to detail is astounding!

You can even purchase a fireworks package and sip and dine while watching the show with the music piped in and lights dimmed.

My fave? The brown butter old fashioned, complete with spaceship earth stamped ice cube. 🧊 🥃

Reservations can be made 60 days in advance on the Walt Disney World app, and walk-ins are not accepted at this time.

I will admit it’s pricey, so something I would save for a special occasion! Very cool experience though and would 10/10 go again!
