Disney Dream part 4

June 24, 2011 | Uncategorized

FFFFRRRIIIDDDAAYY! I am excited for today. The girls in my Sunday school class are coming over tonight for an ice cream party! Then tomorrow I am running 5 miles with my TNT group along the beach. Excited to train with them!

I know I said this before, but for those of you crazy kids loathing the Disney posts, they are almost over, and I will be back to regular running and healthy living posts!

In case you missed the first three…

Disney Dream part 1

Disney Dream part 2

Disney Dream part 3

Ok so the day after Nassau was our sea day. We knew the pools would be ridiculously crowded, so we avoided them. We had Palo brunch at 10:00, so we sat on the couches by the adult pool eating bananas to hold us over until then. Bobby and I did brunch on the Magic and were excited for my parents to experience it, and we of course has never done Palo brunch on the Dream.

It was so nice and fancy! We were seated by the window, and introduced to our server.

We were brought to the food, and the server showed us around to the different tables, then told us about the items we could order off the menu.

We made our first go around and dug in!

we ate….and ate…..and ate!

then we had dessert!

In case you didn’t know, Dessert is always my favorite.

the bathroom was really, really pretty. I know I am a dork.

elevators/lobby going into Palo and Remy

After we ate ourselves into a food coma, we all went into our room and watched Little Fockers. It was ok, not near as funny as the first one. They never really are, sadly.

We wandered around the ship to walk our food off that afternoon.

and then sat on our verandahs and read books. So peaceful!

I really can’t remember what we did the rest of the day. I am betting I took a nap HA! I think we may have gone to the show that night in the theatre. it was semi formal night, so we got semi-dressed-up (haha) for dinner.

I borrowed this dress and it was a bit too big on me. whoops.

Dinner was in the Royal Palace. Look how cute the bread basket is!

ffffooooooddddd

we had a friend hanging out in the room after dinner.

_____________________________________________________________________

yesterday I did a 3 mile speed workout on the treadmill while Bobby was getting a massage. poor thing can’t even sit in a car straight up without being in excruciating pain. He has been knocked out on and off all day!

Today I am doing cross training and maybe some weights or abs before my TNT run tomorrow. Now I am off to clean for the party tonight!

QOTD: what is your favorite ice cream topping?

I’m lovin’ your Disney posts… we went on a 5- night sailing on the Dream about a week after you and LOVED it so kind of re-living it through your detailed posts 🙂 We’d read all the complaints about the super crowded pools before sailing on Cruise Critic and so were a little worried about that… but honestly even on the at sea day we had no issues … no we couldn’t swim laps in the pool 😉 but had no problems finding chairs and were able to get in the pools to get wet without an issue and even on the at sea day I think the longest we waited for the Aquaduck was 30 mins (we rode that a lot… so fun!)

Yum!! Ice cream party!! Hm, probably hot fudge and caramel mixed together. Or strawberries and whip cream. I am such a sugar person!! The brunch looks super yummy – especially the desserts!! And the view from the verandah is so peaceful!!

If you’re planning a trip to Florida’s Forgotten C If you’re planning a trip to Florida’s Forgotten Coast, save this one. 🌊 #RentingTheCoastPartner

We stayed at Singing Waves in Cape San Blas, and it was everything we wanted in a beach getaway: beautiful views, plenty of space, and the kind of place that makes you slow down and actually enjoy vacation.

What really stood out, though, was Renting the Coast. They’re a locally owned, family run company that manages vacation homes throughout Cape San Blas, Port St. Joe, Mexico Beach, and the surrounding Forgotten Coast communities.

Instead of managing hundreds of properties, they intentionally keep their inventory smaller so they can provide a more personal experience for both guests and homeowners. They’re known for being accessible, responsive, and focused on making sure every stay goes smoothly.

If Cape San Blas has been on your travel list, Singing Waves is absolutely worth checking out, and so is Renting the Coast’s collection of homes along Florida’s most underrated stretch of coastline. ☀️

I didn’t realize how much mental space hair removal was taking up until it just… wasn’t anymore. Between games, trips, and everything in between, having something I can do at home in minutes has been a total game changer. The app-guided treatments keep me consistent without having to think about it, and I’m already noticing smoother skin that actually lasts. And yes — the full-body, 10-minute-at-home situation still feels a little unreal.

If you’ve been on the fence, Prime Day (June 14–27) is definitely the moment to check it out with $120 off. #BraunSmartIPL

What we found in Florida was something better than that. #ad

Our first stop in Auburndale was all about slowing down in the best way. We stayed in a cozy tiny home at Camp Margaritaville (you can also stay in an RV!). We enjoyed coffee on the porch, our daughter loved the pool and waterslide (there is even a splash zone for the littles!), and at night we slowed things down with s’mores instead of screens. It felt like nature + comfort + family time all finally in the same place. They have so many other amenities like mini golf, golf cart rentals, pickleball, a playground, cornhole, and more. Nearby, we explored the Florida Children’s Museum and had incredible food and drinks at Smith’s American Tavern and Black & Brew Coffee.

Then, we headed over to Fort Myers to experience a completely different side of the state. Shelling walks at sunrise, beach volleyball, pool cabanas, and the kind of Gulf sunsets that make everyone go quiet for a minute. Direct beach access at the Margaritaville Beach Resort Fort Myers made it effortless to go from “let’s check it out” to toes in the sand in minutes. There were several restaurants on property, so we never even got in our car. That plus live music, fire pits, the spa, and lawn games made it easy to want to stay put and relax.

What stood out most wasn’t just the scenery… it was how easy it was to actually be together here. No rushing or overplanning. That’s the true Floridays feeling for me. Laid-back, a little unexpected, and exactly what we didn’t know we needed. 🌴☀️
