Disclosure: I was invited to the Disney on the Road Social Media Celebration as a guest/influencer and given park tickets and other gifts, however, all opinions are my own.
I have been in the blogging and social media world for almost ten years now, and to this day, nothing gets me more excited than being in a room full of like-minded influencers who are all geeking out over blogging…and DISNEY! So I was of course, super psyched to be invited to the Social Media on the Road Celebration being held right in Walt Disney World.
Not to mention, it was the day before my birthday, so I was pumped to see the celebration theme and birthday hat ears on the table (which I proudly wore the next day to the parks!)
We had a wonderful breakfast and heard from so many amazing speakers. I was tweeting and posting IG stories the whole time, and I love that everyone else was too and no one thinks you are rude for being on your phone!
We heard heartwarming stories about Walt Disney himself, learned more about volunteering, new movies coming out, more about runDisney, and news about happenings around WDW.
Some of the new things we talked about were:
-New fireworks at Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party
-Star Wars land (Galaxy’s Edge) of course!
-The skyline opening September 29th!
-New merchandise and dining options at Disney Springs
We had a nice lunch, and were even interrupted by some stormtroopers who told us we were heading out to get to see Galaxy’s Edge before it opened!
Unfortunately, there were no cameras or phones allowed, but I can tell you we boarded busses, went backstage at Hollywood Studios, donned safety goggles, and got to step inside this beautiful new land and speak with members of the project team all about the design, layout, and more.
When we got back, there were Star Wars-themed desserts for us as we listened to one more encouraging and enthusiastic speaker.
I could go into a lot more detail about each and every thing that was talked about, what we ate, and what we got to experience but that’s not the purpose of this post (and you can catch all of that on my IG story highlights under #DisneySMC). The purpose of this post is to simply tell you how amazing Disney is.
It’s ever-changing, always growing, expanding, recreating, and coming up with new ways to make me fall in love over and over again. The guest experience just keeps on reaching new heights, and there has never been a better time to plan a trip to this happy place. Being at the conference that day reminded me that Disney really cares. They care about their influencers, they care about their guests, and they want everyone to have a magical experience and memories to last forever. There are so many more new and exciting things coming soon that I didn’t even touch on, so you will just have to come and take a look for yourself! I don’t know about you, but Disney is where I want to spend my time with my family. So #NowMoreThan ever, it’s time to plan your next vacation to Walt Disney World. Who’s in?
