Disney Princess Weekend: Monday, and a Giveaway!

March 30, 2012 | Disney, family, Travel, Uncategorized

In case you missed my other non-running Disney Princess posts, you can check them out below:

Disney Princess weekend Friday

Disney Princess Weekend Saturday

Disney Princess Weekend Sunday

After quite the eventful Sunday, we were excited to hit the parks at a nice relaxing pace on Monday. We went to Hollywood Studios, and wore our I did it shirts.

We headed straight for Toy Story Mania. The fastpass return time was already really late, so we stood in the standby line, which went by really fast.

We saw this hilarious guy on the street telling people to stop and go.

We made sad faces in our picture then he changed his at the last minute.

my mom wanted a picture with this funny pair. I could watch the street performers all day! Be sure to watch them if they are out when you are there!

Karen and I wanted to ride Star Tours, so our moms waited for us to be down with it. There was hardly a line for it, either! We also saw Beauty and the Beast.

I really can’t remember what else we did besides lunch! We ate at Backlot Express, and it took forever to get my sandwich because I special ordered it. I won’t make that mistake again, I will just pick off the stuff I don’t like.

We decided to head back to the hotel and then go to the Magic Kingdom (I love being on the monorail!) To do some shopping and I really wanted a dole whip! First, we got a picture with Richard. I love this guy, he has been at the Grand for 20 years. Whenever a bride is getting her photos taken at the resort, he goes around with her holding the train of her dress up. it is so. cute.

We hopped on the monorail and were quickly at the gates of the magic Kingdom.

I snagged a couple pics of the Main Strees Barber shop

My mom and I headed for adventureland and Dole Whips while Karen and her mom were in search of some regular ice cream.

aaahhh my trip is now complete. We seriously considered each getting another one they were so good.

We waited for the other outside the Plaza, and what do you know, the parade was about to start and we had perfect seats!

make sure you get it all mom haha

After the parade we did some shopping and walking around the shops, it was so relaxing.

We headed back to the hotel just in time for scones and tea

I used the down time to take photos with my stalker lens

I honestly don’t remember what I did before it was time for appetizers! But, soon enough it was time for our last night in the lounge. It started raining, but we crossed our fingers it would finish before time to walk to Ohana. We were able to walk over there and enjoy our last dinner. Look who else we found, Megan!

The food was good as usual, I was stuffed!

We were able to watch Wishes from our seats, and then we headed out and took the monorail back to the Grand. Tuesday morning, we packed up the car and I somehow managed to drive the whole 9 hours home, with a car that looked like this.

We had a great trip with great friends, and now have so many memories. Thanks so much for reading along for our magical trip!

I’d say I’m on the heavier end of packing but getting better. Great photos, especially of Beauty and The Beast. That’s my fave live Disney Show =)

Looks like such a fun trip! I drink 2 liters of water a day, sometimes more – I’ve gotten really good about it!

Looks like it was a fun race experience! When I have my sanity, I’ll take my 4 kids there 🙂

I drink 75-100 oz of water a day. Start the day with a bottle, then coffee, and then water the rest of the day.

    Enjoy!

I’m definitely an overpacker. I like options! 🙂

I drink about 4 bottles of water a day.

You are making me want to go to Disney world for spring break. It looks like so much fun!

  7. Carrie says

    March 30, 2012 at 9:21 am

Ha, I love how packed the vehicle is.

I usually drink about 2-3 litres of water a day (I think 4 litres is 1 US gallon…). Some days more, some days less, really depends on my thirst level.

  8. Donna says

    March 30, 2012 at 9:28 am

I drink somewhere between 80 & 112 oz of water a day. Must be the reason I constantly have to go to the bathroom. 😉

I drink between 64-80oz a day. Some has Nuun in it, sometimes there’s some OJ, but mostly water.

I’m definitely an overpacker. An extra outfit, shirt, skirt and such just in case I change my outfit decision that morning. Plus as my mother taught me, always pack rain gear and a jacket or sweater.

  14. Vanessa says

    March 30, 2012 at 6:28 pm

I don’t drink enough, probably the amount in 3-4 water bottles. I promise if I win, I will drink 2 pitchers full a day!! Thanks for the chance to win. 🙂

    I. drink. SOOOO much water. It’s kind of annoying, actually. If I dip below 10 or 8 glasses in a day, I’ll feel the effects and get cloudy or a headache. I’d say I drink between 10 and 14 cups on a given day. Possibly more.. I don’t really count, just keep filling my glass and waterbottle.

  21. Carissa says

    March 31, 2012 at 8:36 am

Love this post because I LOVE Disney! Never had a dole whip though..I’m sure I’m missing out! Our other announcer – John…his wife is one of the “people of hollywood” at Studios! She’s hilarious!

I drink about 8 cups of water a day..more if I’m working out!

  22. Heather B says

    March 31, 2012 at 12:04 pm

I don’t know exactly how much water I drink, but I do know it’s somewhere between “not enough” and “omg, I have to pee again”.

  23. Lena H. says

    March 31, 2012 at 3:47 pm

My grandpa used to tell me that the best thing I would ever learn is how to “travel light” — and after (almost) 30 years and navigating countless airports, subways, train stations, bus connections, etc. I’m almost there. The only way I’ll pack anything more than a carry-on is if I’m going somewhere for more than 10 days (or a week in the winter). And somehow, I still manage to pack more than I end up using or needing. So I still have some more work to do to be a goo underpacker.

    • Heather says

      April 2, 2012 at 1:08 pm

wow go you! I could never do that.

  24. Lena H. says

    March 31, 2012 at 3:51 pm

While I try and get at least 8 glasses of water a day, sometimes I fall short on non-active days but no less than 6 glasses. But if I’m heading to boxing or out for a long trek with the pup, I make a point to have at least 10 glasses — usually 12+.

I always keep one of my Camelbak bottles or my Nalgene filled and within arm’s reach, which helps a lot. My poor Brita runs on overdrive most of the time.

  25. Julie says

    March 31, 2012 at 4:34 pm

I used to drink a lot of water before I moved and started my new job. Now the water tastes funny at both places and I keep forgetting to buy the bottled stuff or a filtered pitcher. I NEED this, seriously. The water doesn’t just taste funny it actually makes me feel sick. ) ; but not anyone else so I guess it’s all in my head.

  26. Therese says

    March 31, 2012 at 7:39 pm

  27. Ricole Runs says

I try to drink at least two Nalgenes a day but I know I need to drink more than I do!

  28. Kristen says

I try and drink at least 90 fl oz a day but sometimes it is hard especially during the week. This pitcher would be great to have in my classroom refridge so I will always have cold water and don’t have to rely on filling up my water bottle during my break and having to keep bottled water as a back up.

  29. Sarah says

    April 1, 2012 at 9:28 am

I drink around a nalgene bottle and then another 8-12 oz at dinner. It always is from a Brita or another type of filter.

I used to think dairy-free desserts were “just o I used to think dairy-free desserts were “just okay.” Like, fine in a pinch… but never something I craved. 👀

But then this little picnic happened—just me, my girl, and a sweet treat we both loved enough to fight over the last bite. 😅

We’ve been trying to be more mindful with food choices lately (especially with summer travel coming up), and I grabbed these So Delicious treats at Kroger kind of on a whim. The new packaging caught my eye, but it was the taste that totally surprised us. Creamy. Indulgent. No weird aftertaste. And no, we’re not fully dairy-free—and we still loved them.

It’s one of those little swaps that doesn’t feel like giving anything up.

And that? That’s a win for both of us. ✨@So_Delicious

🚨 Homeschool decision!! If you have been aroun 🚨 Homeschool decision!!

If you have been around here since Christmas time, then you know we pulled Emma Kate out of her private school after the first semester and put her in a hybrid homeschool for the spring. The main reason being we wanted more absences than the school allowed.

What is a hybrid? In our case, she went to a school all day 3 days a week, and we taught her at home two days a week.

It seemed like the best of both worlds, not having absences count since we were also her teachers, being able to stay home some, sleep in, and travel.

Well, it wasn’t all rainbows and butterflies. For one, the school we sent her to ended up not being what we thought. We were told being absent wouldn’t be a problem, but it became clear very early on her teacher was not a fan and she was not kind or accommodating to Emma Kate. There’s a lot of other reasons we didn’t blown the school I won’t go into. (If you are local and considering hybrid feel free to dm me and I will share my concerns and grievances.)

Teaching your kid is hard. There were lots of tears and frustrations, and she got bored since Bobby and I also work from home/I’m not a stay at hoke mom. We couldn’t just sit with her all day and teach her with our crazy long hours owning two businesses.

It was tough to keep a schedule and while getting to travel a lot was great, she didn’t thrive on not having a routine and struggled with the randomness of everything.

She is also a very social only child who missed her friends and also wants to play sports for her school.

In the end while there were a lot of pros to hybrid homeschool, the cons outweighed them for us so we are returning to her old school in the fall.

Am I glad we did it? Yes! I always would have wondered otherwise and now we know. We will still be pulling her out of school some to travel in the fall, just not as much.

If you have any questions feel free to drop them in the comments below and I will be happy to answer the best I can! 🩷
