Easter Meaning

April 18, 2014 | Faith, family, holidays

Happy (Good) Friday yall! Today is a very special day for me. I know a lot of you aren’t religious, but hopefully you know if you had read my blog at all that I am a Christian, so this weekend means a lot to me.

DSC_0169

I will be visiting with my family all weekend, so I won’t be around much. Bobby and I are also running the Crescent City Classic 10k on Saturday! I am really looking forward to a fun weekend and hope you are, too.

I hope you know if you ever have any questions about Good Friday, or resurrection Sunday (or anything else related!) That I would be more than happy to talk to you about it, and not in a pushy way!

Have a great weekend everyone, see ya on Monday! I leave you with the lyrics to a great song: (you can listen here)

Christ Is Risen

Let no one caught in sin remain
Inside the lie of inward shame
We fix our eyes upon the cross
And run to him who showed great love
And bled for us
Freely you bled, for us

Christ is risen from the dead
Trampling over death by death
Come awake, come awake!
Come and rise up from the grave!
Christ is risen from the dead
We are one with him again
Come awake, come awake!
Come and rise up from the grave!

Beneath the weight of all our sin
You bow to none but heavens will
No scheme of hell, no scoffer’s crown
No burden great can hold you down
In strength you reign
Forever let your church proclaim

Christ is risen from the dead
Trampling over death by death
Come awake, come awake!
Come and rise up from the grave

Christ is risen from the dead
We are one with him again
Come awake, come awake!
Come and rise up from the grave

Oh death! Where is your sting?
Oh hell! Where is your victory?
Oh Church! Come stand in the light!
The glory of God has defeated the night!
Oh death! Where is your sting?
Oh hell! Where is your victory?
Oh Church! Come stand in the light!
Our God is not dead, he’s alive! he’s alive!

Christ is risen from the dead
Trampling over death by death
Come awake, come awake!
Come and rise up from the grave
Christ is risen from the dead
We are one with him again
Come awake, come awake!
Come and rise up from the grave
Rise up from the grave…

🏈🍊 Calling all Tennessee fans! Headed to Atl 🏈🍊 Calling all Tennessee fans! Headed to Atlanta for the big game Aug. 30? Make Signia by Hilton Atlanta your home base (or your pregame headquarters). It’s the closest hotel to Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

Atlanta’s newest luxury hotel is packed with everything you need to kick off football season in style— a sports bar next to the stadium, a beautiful Lobby Bar for post-game drinks as you wait out traffic, a serene boutique spa and unbeatable game-day energy.

From rooftop pool vibes + @spasigniaatlanta treatments to cold brews + stadium views at @nestonfour sports bar — and @capolineaatlanta (one of the best places to eat in downtown Atlanta) — you’ll be right in the heart of the action.

5th grade. ✏️ 🍎 📚 Today she left eleme 5th grade. ✏️ 🍎 📚

Today she left elementary school to change classes all by herself, do homework on a Chromebook, and basically be a grown up at school. 😭

How did we get here? She was just lifting her arms up saying “mommy, hold you!” And it felt like yesterday. It’s bittersweet watching her grow, but I know she is going to do amazing things. She’s got a special fire inside of her that can’t be taught, and I know it will take her far in life.

Chase your dreams baby girl. We will always be right here cheering you on. 🩷 @theprincessek

Summer photo dump ☀️ Emma Kate starts school Summer photo dump ☀️

Emma Kate starts school tomorrow, so I guess summer is officially over. 😭 It’s bittersweet. I’m excited to be back into a routine and fall is my favorite, but I will miss lazy mornings and traveling on a whim and not having to help with homework. 😵‍💫

Here is a carousel of some of my favorite moments. From basketball tournaments to travels down to south Florida and back, Atlanta, Asheville, Tuscaloosa, Pigeon Forge, and all the way to Disneyland, and my 40th birthday plus 4th of July, tiny house camping and Opryland for Bobby’s birthday, we packed a lot into the past 2.5 months.

I never want to forget these special moments with my little family. Memories to last a lifetime that I thank God for. 🩷

Have your kids started school yet?
