Emma Kate’s First Birthday Party

September 21, 2015 | baby, craft, family

Over the weekend, we had friends and family come into town to celebrate Emma Kate’s first birthday! She officially won’t be one until Thursday though.

It was a very hot day which was a bummer because I was hoping we could hang out in the backyard but no such luck. Bobby grilled boudin in the blazing hot sun.

We of course had some Orange Leaf frozen yogurt with our cake!

We also had a candy bar and plenty of food.

Chic-Fil-A nuggets, fruit, veggies, chips and salsa, sandwiches, pork, crawfish, and shrimp boudin, and of course cake.

I printed off a picture of Emma Kate from every month and used them as decorations.

She was not a huge fan of the icing on her smash cake and didn’t like how it felt on her fingers.

It was organized chaos with all the kids but we had a great time with about 30 people in the house.

I plan to do another post with more pictures of the decorations etc. so stay tuned for that if party planning is something that interests you. I seemed to manage to catch another cold so I am feeling pretty crummy and am going to try to lay low for the next couple of days. I hope everyone has a great Monday!

She has had cake before but I think it was the thick icing she didn’t like

So many people I know follow and like posts and st So many people I know follow and like posts and stories from content creators, but when it’s people they know in real life….forget about it. All of the sudden, we just don’t need or deserve the support. We just get lurkers. 💔

Women, I encourage you in 2026 to find a table where women champion other women. And I encourage all the ladies here to be a girl’s girl. There is room for everyone, and we ALL need a little support, even those that look like they have it all together.

Let’s commit to helping each other on AND offline. A simple smile, an “I love your dress” or “your kid did great in the school play” or “hang in there, you got this!” Goes a long way.

I will never understand people going out of their way to intentionally bypass a person online or in real life. People matter. It’s a tough time of year for a lot of people, so let’s all act like the friends we claim to be and be there for each other however we can. ❤️

This one is great for busy folks who want to make a “special” drink without too much fuss. 🎄

It’s literally just water frozen in the bottom of a glass with some rosemary taped in it. I waited a few hours the poured in some Prosecco and added in edible glitter (you can use multiple colors!) pretty and delicious, and keeps your drink cold! Cheers! 🥂 ❄️
