Late Spring Events Gulf Shores and Orange Beach

April 14, 2025 | Travel

Disclosure: This post is sponsored by Gulf Shores & Orange Beach Tourism, however, all opinions are my own.

There is no “bad time” to visit the beaches of Alabama, but here is a list of late spring events that may entice you to go ahead and snag somewhere to stay before the summer rush! Check out these April & May Events:

Flora-Bama Mullet Toss  (April 25-27)

One of the most iconic and quirky events on the Gulf Coast, the Flora-Bama Mullet Toss is held at the famous Flora-Bama Lounge on the Florida-Alabama state line. Participants take turns tossing a mullet (a type of fish) over the state line to see who can throw the farthest. The event is packed with live music, beach parties, and great food, making it a must-experience festival.

Sand in My Boots Festival (May 16-18)

One of the biggest music festivals in the region, the Hangout Music Festival brings a new name and major headlining artists to the white-sand beaches of Gulf Shores. With multiple stages, beachside activities, and an electric atmosphere, this is a must-attend event for music lovers.

Orange Beach Billfish Classic (May 13-18)

Fishing enthusiasts flock to Orange Beach for this prestigious deep-sea fishing tournament. The competition brings some of the best anglers to the Gulf, and spectators can enjoy the weigh-ins and lively dockside celebrations.

Bushwacker 50th anniversary (May 31)

This year is the 50th anniversary of the bushwacker, so it’s time to celebrate with what else? A bushwacker! Where? Flora-Bama, Flora-Bama Yacht Club & Ole River Grill. They will be hiding 10 special golden Bushwackers around the property—5 in the week leading up to the event, and 5 on the big day. Follow their social media for clues, find one, and bring it to the Flora-Bama on May 31st for 100 entries into their raffle!

THE GRAND PRIZE:
A Trip To St. Thomas (airfare + lodging included!)
FREE Bushwackers for a Year
$500 Flora-Bama Gift Card

Expect live music, fun surprises, and $5 Bushwackers at every location all day long!

It will be YOU. 🎄 They don’t know it yet. But whe It will be YOU. 🎄

They don’t know it yet. But
when they’re grown and starting
their own Christmas traditions,
it will be you they mirror.
Your family recipes,
the Christmas songs,
the nostalgic smell.

When they think of Christmas,
it will be YOU, not the presents
that they remember.

You are their memories.
You are their magic.
You are their Christmas. ❤️🎄

So slow down. Stop worrying if the presents are wrapped just right, if you baked enough cookies or picked out the right cards to send. It doesn’t matter. They will remember YOU.
