Five Years and Counting

January 6, 2012 | family, Uncategorized

I cannot believe it’s January 6 2012! On this day, five years ago, I walked down the aisle and said “I do.” I remember being so proud that we made it to one year, and we were no longer “newlyweds,” but it seems like just yesterday we were dancing the second line dance with boas and umbrellas in New Orleans.

For those of you who have been long time loyal blog readers, I apologize if you have to see some of the same pictures again, but I can’t help it, I loved my wedding and want to share it with you. I did a whole recap last year, so you can find it on our four year anniversary post. It was quite the crazy wedding day so I suggest reading it if you like wedding recaps! I also wrote a post during the royal wedding which includes some pictures from my big day.

It was a fun day to say the least. I love looking back on pictures over the last five years, it’s so funny to see how much we have grown and changed. I’m sure we will be saying the same thing on our 10, 15, 20, 25 and so on anniversaries. Bobby and I are so blessed to have found each other, and I thank God for making us specifically for each other. I leave you with the lyrics to a song I love, one that was beautifully sung at our wedding.

When God Made You

its always been a mystery to me,
How two hearts can come together,
And love can last forever.
But now that I have found you I believe,
That a miracle has come when God sends the perfect one.
So gone are all my questions about why,
And i’ve never been so sure of anything in my life

~chorus~

Oh I wonder what God was thinking, when he created you.
I wonder if He knew everything I would need,
Because he made all my dreams come true.
When God made you, He must have been thinking about me.

(Girls)

Ooo ooo,I promise that wherever you may go, wherever life may lead you,
With all my heart I’ll be there too.
And from this moment on I want you to know,
I’ll let nothing come between us, and I will love the ones you love.
(guy):So gone are all my questions about why (girl echoes):about why                                                 and I’ve never been so sure of anything in my life

Duet:Oh I wonder what God was thinking when he created you,
I wonder if He knew everything I would need,
Because He made all my dreams come true.
When God made you He must’ve been thinking about me.

Bridge

He made the sun He made the moon,
To harmonize a perfect tune,
One can’t do without the other they just have to be together.
And that is how I know its true,
Your for me and I’m for you and my world
Just cant be right without you in my life

Chorus

(guy) He must have heard every prayer I’ve been praying (girl echo)
I’ve been praying (both)He must’ve knew everything I would need

When God made you, He must’ve been thinking about me.

QOTD: What was sung at your wedding? If you aren’t married, what do you want sung at your wedding?

We didn’t sing anything at my wedding. We did however, play the Beatles “All you need is love” before the wedding, and when we were walking back down the aisle together, we played the Imperial March from Star Wars. We also toasted with Diet Mt. Dew instead of champagne bc we’re nerds like that.

Love all your wedding pics! No shame in posting them over and over, it’s a special day for you guys (Even though I’m a new reader and hadn’t seen them). Hope you have a wonderful anniversary and many more!

Happy Anniversary! I LOVE that we got married on the exact same day — too funny. And of course we honeymooned in Disney – how did we not see each other? 😉 I’m thinking we need to plan a trip for the 4 of us so we can hang out — no better place than Disney!

We had B Lee’s dad, aunt & uncle sing at our wedding – so cool. They sang “Household of Faith” and “When I Said I Do”. I still watch the wedding video just to hear them sing!

we had a friend sing household of faith, too! and she also sang “how beautiful”

We were at the Caribbean Beach – but this year we’ll be at the Grand (for part of the trip anyway!)

Neat story — we were married in the same church that my parents were…and Household of Faith was sung at their wedding too 🙂

No one sang at our wedding, but one of my bridesmaids played her violin – she played Bryan Adams’ “Everything I do” as the guys walked down the aisle, Peter Cetera’s “Glory of Love” as the girls walked down the aisle, and Firehouse’s “Love of a Lifetime” as I walked down the aisle, which was also our first dance at the reception!

#ad Turns out my patio didn’t need a full makeover #ad Turns out my patio didn’t need a full makeover… it just needed the right planters 🌿

I walked into @loweshomeimprovement (garden center = instant mood boost) and found these allen + roth & planters that look designer but are actually budget-friendly. Exactly the kind of upgrade I love: big impact without the big price tag.

Swipe to see the before → after because WOW. New planters + fresh plants completely brought this space back to life. I love how versatile they are too, perfect for patios, porches, or even indoors. If your outdoor space is looking a little… tired (same 😅), this is your sign to refresh it for spring.

Grab them in-store at Lowe’s or through the link in my bio 🔗

Tour of a 2 bedroom villa at Disney’s Saratoga Spr Tour of a 2 bedroom villa at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa in Walt Disney World! ☀️

Things we love about staying in a 2 BR villa as opposed to a “regular” hotel room:
-Tons of space (we shared with my parents)
-full kitchen/full fridge and freezer
-washer and dryer
-full living room and dining area
-multiple bathrooms

Things we ❤️ about this resort in general:
-Can walk to Disney Springs from certain buildings
-Multiple pools and slides
-cheaper than most other villas
-Rooms seem more spacious than some villas
-Peaceful/golf course/lots of landscaping/walking paths
-Has a spa!

It’s Friday. Jesus is praying. Peter’s a sleeping. It’s Friday.
Jesus is praying.
Peter’s a sleeping.
Judas is betraying.
But Sunday’s comin’.

It’s Friday.
Pilate’s struggling.
The council is conspiring.
The crowd is vilifying.
They don’t even know that Sunday’s comin’.

It’s Friday.
The disciples are running
Like sheep without a shepherd.
Mary’s crying.
Peter is denying.
But they don’t know that Sunday’s a comin’.

It’s Friday.
The Romans beat my Jesus.
They robe him in scarlet.
They crown him with thorns.
But they don’t know that Sunday’s comin’.

It’s Friday.
See Jesus walking to Calvary.
His blood dripping.
His body stumbling.
And his spirit’s burdened.
But you see, it’s only Friday.
Sunday’s comin’.

It’s Friday.
The world’s winning.
People are sinning.
And evil’s grinning.

It’s Friday.
The soldiers nail my Savior’s hands to the cross.
They nail my Savior’s feet to the cross.
And then they raise him up next to criminals.

It’s Friday.
But let me tell you something,
Sunday’s comin’.

It’s Friday.
The disciples are questioning.
What has happened to their King.
And the Pharisees are celebrating
That their scheming has been achieved.
But they don’t know It’s only Friday.
Sunday’s comin’.

It’s Friday.
He’s hanging on the cross.
Feeling forsaken by his Father.
Left alone and dying.
Can nobody save him?
Ooooh It’s Friday.
But Sunday’s comin’.

It’s Friday.
The earth trembles.
The sky grows dark.
My King yields his spirit.
It’s Friday.
Hope is lost.
Death has won.
Sin has conquered and Satan’s just a laughin’.

It’s Friday.
Jesus is buried.
A soldier stands guard.
And a rock is rolled into place.
But it’s Friday. It is only Friday.
Sunday is a comin’! ☀️

For spring break we headed to South Louisiana to v For spring break we headed to South Louisiana to visit family, and it was the peaceful, non hurried time I didn’t know I needed.

We fished, collected chicken eggs, rode golf carts, had target practice, went for walks, played games, danced, laughed, stayed up late, and watched the sunrise. EK lived her best country girl life, casting like a pro and learning how to unhook the fish. She hung out in the chicken coop, and stayed outside all day long. ☀️❤️

One day we had a mini family reunion and were blessed with perfect weather. I wanted to slow down time and make it last longer, but it just means we have to do it again. 🥰 So thankful for so much love in my life!
