We left off after our full day at TradeWinds. Emma Kate thought we were going home that day and was so sad. She said we drove way to far to only be at that beach for 2 nights (smart girl.) We told her we had a good breakfast to go to in Clearwater before we headed home. She just had the saddest face the whole way, and we were tempted to go ahead and tell her so she wouldn’t be so sad.
We made it to Salty’s Bar and Grille across from the beach in Clearwater. What we didn’t know is there was no parking so we drove around for 10 minutes and finally found street parking. Of course it was FREEZING cold in March, and the restaurant is all outside. They had heaters which helped some, but yall we were cold the whole meal! The food was EXCELLENT though, we were seriously impressed.
We hurried through our meal, but took a ton of pics since it was a sponsored meal, and ran back to the car.
Now for the fun part. We headed to Orlando and EK had no idea. Thankfully the gloom started to pass as we got closer to Disney World and the sun was coming out, which was good since our plan was the pool at the Polynesian! I was DYING to tell Emma Kate. The plan was to wait until just before we got to the big Disney sign. It felt like it took forever to get there, I was so anxious and excited for her to find out! Bobby recorded it on his phone and she was SO excited yall! I was of course happy to be back as well. We had done online check in, so we went straight to the pool, changed closed, had our pick of pool chairs and started to relax, aahhh! It was still too chilly for me to swim but Emma Kate didn’t seem to care.
We were using my parents DVC points that were about to expire, and the main reason we chose this resort was because it’s so empty since the DVC section is the only one open. We knew this was our last chance to experience a near empty resort and pool! Plus we love how spacious the studios are and how they (sort of) have two bathrooms.
We stayed at the pool all afternoon, and I got to eat my beloved pulled pork nachos for lunch. Then we went to the room to get organized and get ready for dinner at one of our faves, Splitsville!
Emma Kate LOVES bowling, Bobby LOVES the sushi, and I LOVE seeing everyone happy, so we keep going back!
We felt super safe, they were only using every other lane, everyone wore masks while walking around, and per usual the service was top notch.
Bobby was a very happy boy with his sushi, and we basically had to be rolled out of the place we ate so much! Emma Kate even got an Icee and loved the cute bowling pin container. We always have such a great time and feel so relaxed here. The menu is huge so there is something for everyone.
If you are looking for a great indoor family activity with amazing food, I highly recommend taking some time to visit Splitsville on your next trip.
We always have a blast and make the sweetest memories. It’s also a great rainy day activity to a way to escape the heat for a bit! I recommend making a reservation! Oh, the desserts are pretty great, too!
Disclosure: We were hosted by Splitsville, but truly honestly we LOVE IT.
We had one very tired little girl after such a long day. Disney tired is the best kind of tired!
She fell asleep with the lights on and the tv on, poor thing!
My next post will be about our day at Magic Kingdom!
