Friday Favorites: Emergen-C

September 30, 2011 | Uncategorized

Good morning! It’s expo day for me! I am going to be so busy today and tomorrow, but I LOVE it! It’s a good busy. I love Running Skirts! Anyway, it’s Friday, so that means, of course, Friday favorites! This Friday favorite is a little odd, as it really doesn’t have a whole lot to do with running directly….but INDIRETLY, it does. See, I managed to come home from Disney with a nasty cold (Jen it’s not your fault!) and knowing I had to go out of town again, I wanted to be sure to get well as fast as possible. I headed to the store and bought these little gems.

(source)

Yes friends, I bought me some Emergen-C! I haven’t been sick since well…January when I came back from Disney after running the marathon, and I have heard a lot of people talk about this stuff, so I figured I would try it. Now, mind you, I don’t even like orange juice, but for some reason I bought the orange flavor (see, told you I am sick!) I was dreading the yucky medicine taste, but I have to be honest, it’s not that bad!

It has vitamin C, 24 nutrients, 7 B vitamins, antioxidants, and electrolytes. It is supposed to increase your energy and boost your immune system (yes, please!)

You pour the little packet into some water, stir, and drink. I prefer to put it in a small glass of water and get it over with instead of dilute it in a full glass. I have been doing this twice a day, and while I still am not well, I really think it’s helping! I have felt yucky but not that full blown I can’t move I want to die feeling that we all know and love. So, this stuff is highly recommended by me! I think it was $11.00 for a box of 30 packets, so not too bad! Hopefully I will stop feeling sick and feel more like this:

in no time!

I really hope I do, because, well, I am running a half marathon tomorrow! I only ran twice on vacation, and only 2 miles each time. Oops. The air conditioning at the gym was broken so it was SO HOT, and it was even worse outside, so that’s all I could manage. Hopefully choosing to rest instead of run will do me some good!

QOTD: What do you take when you feel a cold coming on?

I just bought a box of Emergen-C too! Generally I’m pretty healthy, but if course, just a week before Wine and Dine I came down with something. Normally I load up on Vitamin C and garlic capsules when I feel run down, but since I’m getting on a plane to Orlando, I’m nit taking any chances. 🙂

I’ll look for you at the expo tomorrow! It’s almost race time!

This is good to know – I relied on DayQuil and NyQuil earlier this week. (I love NyQuil – knocks me out for the night every time.)

I’m in the same boat about running. I’ve had almost a week off and my first half is in 2 weeks – eeeeek!

emergen-c! I also used to take airborne at the first sign of sickness…that has saved me on many occasions!

I normally don’t get sick, but last friday I got sick…
got my daughters flu and felt like I had been hit by a truck Friday.
So, guzzled Emergen-C also and juiced over 10 pounds of oranges!
    Felt better by Sunday 🙂

If you get the Raspberry and mix it with Sprite, it’s not too bad. Try it next time.

In my opinion, using the double stroller when I go out
would be the most important reason why I would decide to purchase one.

Tour of a 2 bedroom villa at Disney’s Saratoga Spr Tour of a 2 bedroom villa at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa in Walt Disney World! ☀️

Things we love about staying in a 2 BR villa as opposed to a “regular” hotel room:
-Tons of space (we shared with my parents)
-full kitchen/full fridge and freezer
-washer and dryer
-full living room and dining area
-multiple bathrooms

Things we ❤️ about this resort in general:
-Can walk to Disney Springs from certain buildings
-Multiple pools and slides
-cheaper than most other villas
-Rooms seem more spacious than some villas
-Peaceful/golf course/lots of landscaping/walking paths

It’s Friday. Jesus is praying. Peter’s a sleeping. It’s Friday.
Jesus is praying.
Peter’s a sleeping.
Judas is betraying.
But Sunday’s comin’.

It’s Friday.
Pilate’s struggling.
The council is conspiring.
The crowd is vilifying.
They don’t even know that Sunday’s comin’.

It’s Friday.
The disciples are running
Like sheep without a shepherd.
Mary’s crying.
Peter is denying.
But they don’t know that Sunday’s a comin’.

It’s Friday.
The Romans beat my Jesus.
They robe him in scarlet.
They crown him with thorns.
But they don’t know that Sunday’s comin’.

It’s Friday.
See Jesus walking to Calvary.
His blood dripping.
His body stumbling.
And his spirit’s burdened.
But you see, it’s only Friday.
Sunday’s comin’.

It’s Friday.
The world’s winning.
People are sinning.
And evil’s grinning.

It’s Friday.
The soldiers nail my Savior’s hands to the cross.
They nail my Savior’s feet to the cross.
And then they raise him up next to criminals.

It’s Friday.
But let me tell you something,
Sunday’s comin’.

It’s Friday.
The disciples are questioning.
What has happened to their King.
And the Pharisees are celebrating
That their scheming has been achieved.
But they don’t know It’s only Friday.
Sunday’s comin’.

It’s Friday.
He’s hanging on the cross.
Feeling forsaken by his Father.
Left alone and dying.
Can nobody save him?
Ooooh It’s Friday.
But Sunday’s comin’.

It’s Friday.
The earth trembles.
The sky grows dark.
My King yields his spirit.
It’s Friday.
Hope is lost.
Death has won.
Sin has conquered and Satan’s just a laughin’.

It’s Friday.
Jesus is buried.
A soldier stands guard.
And a rock is rolled into place.
But it’s Friday. It is only Friday.
Sunday is a comin’! ☀️

For spring break we headed to South Louisiana to v For spring break we headed to South Louisiana to visit family, and it was the peaceful, non hurried time I didn’t know I needed.

We fished, collected chicken eggs, rode golf carts, had target practice, went for walks, played games, danced, laughed, stayed up late, and watched the sunrise. EK lived her best country girl life, casting like a pro and learning how to unhook the fish. She hung out in the chicken coop, and stayed outside all day long. ☀️❤️

One day we had a mini family reunion and were blessed with perfect weather. I wanted to slow down time and make it last longer, but it just means we have to do it again. 🥰 So thankful for so much love in my life!
