Happy Friday! Who has exciting weekend plans? I am currently gearing up for an expo and half marathon! I am really excited about this one because it is my Team in Training race that I have been raising money for all spring and summer. I will be working a Running Skirts booth at the expo, and selling one of my favorite things….strappy tanks!
These tanks are not only cute, but comfortable and functional. Living in the south. for 9 months out of the year it is H-O-T. I don’t have a TON of need for long sleeved tops, so strappy tanks are the most ideal for me. They have a built in bra, with removable pads. So if you need a little help in that department, great, if not, just take ‘em out!
The tank has double straps, which helps distribute the weight evenly on your shoulders so you don’t get that dig in strap look that we all hate! Not to mention, the criss-cross back is really cute.
There is also a pocket in the back towards the bottom to hold a key, extra gels, a phone, etc. I stick my cell phone back there when I am working expos, it fits perfect! I also like that the tanks are long enough. I have a long torso and hate, hate, hate, when shirts are too short on me! These tanks come in a lot of great colors as well, and of course match all the different skirts, and are sweat wicking!

If you are in south Louisiana this weekend come by Varsity Sports in Mandeville to check out the Running Skirts booth Friday and Saturday.
QOTD: What qualities do you look for in a good running top?

These tanks are so cute. I need to invest in one! I love how they’re long since I have a long torso, too. I definitely need help in the boob department but I couldn’t imagine running with padding, haha!
Crystal says
It’s not bad or weird, Jen! lol. I was super skeptical at first, too…
Heather says
used to think the padding would be too much but its not bad!
Crystal says
I LOVE the strappy tops! Last season’s strappy tanks were too snug on my tummy, so I’m looking forward to the new, relaxed fit. Jen, I was unsure about the padding, too, but it is not weird, just gives some shape to my flatness. Haha. I hope to be able to wear the tanks alone. I also like to wear the bras under long racerback tanks…the straps showing are just so cute!
What I look for in a good running top these days are:
– Fitted but not skintight
– Non-flattening bust (if it has a built-in bra) with good support
– Long torso – I don’t have a long torso, but I do have hips. Short/tight torsos on tops ride up to my waist and look funky, not to mention, they are uncomfortable.
– NO HEADLIGHTS – the number one reason I look for sports bras/tanks with padding, be it built in or removable…headlights seem to be more of an issue with me ever since I had a kid.
I highly recommend everyone go try on a runningskirts strappy bra or tank!!! …or both!!! go go go! 🙂

yay crystal!

I love the strappy tops, they are super cute! I wish I could wear them but my massive sports bra sticking out would be not so cute! haha I have a few long C9 racerbacks from Target that I LOVE. They are long, which is the most important thing for me (large chest + long torso = needs extra fabric).
Heather says
I know people who wear them with the sports bras and it still looks cute! the girl I wore the wine and dine half with did that and it was fine. Have you see the pics on facebook?
Tara Burner says
Those tanks are tooo cute…
would they ‘support’ big chests though?
that’s the hardest thing I have to deal with when finding tank tops
Heather says
I know girls who wear them and just wear a sports bra underneath or they double up on the tanks.
Tara Burner says
I may have to try that…I’ve got to order a skirt sometime too!
