Gymboss Interval Timer Review/Giveaway

November 21, 2011 | Uncategorized

Good morning, I hope you had a fab weekend. Mine was pretty relaxing. I am loving sitting on the couch and watching TV with the Christmas tree next to me. Today I am headed to the store for the last time before Thanksgiving. I hate going *too* close to turkey day because it gets so crowded, so hopefully I won’t get mowed down by crazy old ladies trying to get the last pie filling.

Today I have a fun review and giveaway. I was asked to review the Gymboss Interval Timer awhile back, but then I hurt my foot and wasn’t able to run and review it! I was able to check it out this past week and now you can have a chance to win one!

I really liked that there is a clip on the back (kind of like a beeper) so I could easily clip it to my waistband while running or working out. You can use this timer for many things other that just running sprints though:

The timer was really easy to set up and use. Here are some of the features:

  • 1 or 2 intervals – 2 seconds to 99 minutes
  • Repeat up to 99 times
  • Beep and/or Vibrate alarm
  • Alarm duration 1, 5, or 10 seconds
  • Stopwatch function
  • Secure Belt clip
  • Compact Size (1 ¾ x 2 ¼ x ½ inches)
  • Water and shock resistant

I personally have used the timer for circuit training and for running sprints. The alarm is plenty loud, and I like that if you want it to just vibrate and not beep, it has that option. Personally, I give this product a big thumbs up. If you don’t want to wear a watch and want something for timing that is portable, this is a great option. Those of you that love running with the Galloway method? This is the perfect thing for you! Did you know the Gymboss timer is the official timer of Jeff’s RunWalkRun program? It also comes in a variety of colors. The nice folks at Gymboss are going to give one away to a lucky RWS reader!

Here is how to enter. Please leave a separate comment for each entry:

1.) Like Gymboss on Facebook

2.) Tell me what you would use this timer for if you were to win

3.) retweet, post on Facebook or your blog about the giveaway and include a link to this post

You have until Friday night at 8 pm CST to enter, and I will announce a winner Saturday morning. Good Luck!

I would use the Gymboss to time my intervals on the TM. I have an interval app on my iPhone, but I don’t like wearing my phone while I run.

I sure enjoy popping into to your blog and envy your job with Running Skirts (and Disney).

I would use it at the WDW Marathon on 1/8/12. I love using my Garmin watch for intervals, but for a race that size, everyone’s watch is constantly beeping and it’s hard to tell whose beep is whose! I have been debating purchasing a GymBoss just for the vibration function! No more confusion!

Whoo! This is a great giveaway, Heather! I’ve come and gone from your blog (and many others of people I met/heard about through this year’s HLS) but since I don’t use Google Reader (why not?) haven’t been back for a while. This is a good post to stumble upon. 😉

I’d use a GymBoss for high intensity workouts – for the intervals that are timed so I don’t need to lose seconds (and intensity) by checking my watch constantly. Also, it would be great to use for my clients! Thanks for the giveaway!

I used to think dairy-free desserts were “just o I used to think dairy-free desserts were “just okay.” Like, fine in a pinch… but never something I craved. 👀

But then this little picnic happened—just me, my girl, and a sweet treat we both loved enough to fight over the last bite. 😅

We’ve been trying to be more mindful with food choices lately (especially with summer travel coming up), and I grabbed these So Delicious treats at Kroger kind of on a whim. The new packaging caught my eye, but it was the taste that totally surprised us. Creamy. Indulgent. No weird aftertaste. And no, we’re not fully dairy-free—and we still loved them.

It’s one of those little swaps that doesn’t feel like giving anything up.

And that? That’s a win for both of us. ✨@So_Delicious

🚨 Homeschool decision!! If you have been aroun 🚨 Homeschool decision!!

If you have been around here since Christmas time, then you know we pulled Emma Kate out of her private school after the first semester and put her in a hybrid homeschool for the spring. The main reason being we wanted more absences than the school allowed.

What is a hybrid? In our case, she went to a school all day 3 days a week, and we taught her at home two days a week.

It seemed like the best of both worlds, not having absences count since we were also her teachers, being able to stay home some, sleep in, and travel.

Well, it wasn’t all rainbows and butterflies. For one, the school we sent her to ended up not being what we thought. We were told being absent wouldn’t be a problem, but it became clear very early on her teacher was not a fan and she was not kind or accommodating to Emma Kate. There’s a lot of other reasons we didn’t blown the school I won’t go into. (If you are local and considering hybrid feel free to dm me and I will share my concerns and grievances.)

Teaching your kid is hard. There were lots of tears and frustrations, and she got bored since Bobby and I also work from home/I’m not a stay at hoke mom. We couldn’t just sit with her all day and teach her with our crazy long hours owning two businesses.

It was tough to keep a schedule and while getting to travel a lot was great, she didn’t thrive on not having a routine and struggled with the randomness of everything.

She is also a very social only child who missed her friends and also wants to play sports for her school.

In the end while there were a lot of pros to hybrid homeschool, the cons outweighed them for us so we are returning to her old school in the fall.

Am I glad we did it? Yes! I always would have wondered otherwise and now we know. We will still be pulling her out of school some to travel in the fall, just not as much.

If you have any questions feel free to drop them in the comments below and I will be happy to answer the best I can! 🩷
