Healthy Christmas Gifts Giveaway Series

November 30, 2012 | blogging, fitness, Giveaway, holidays, running

Good morning! I love Christmas. Gifts are fun right? I really do enjoy GIVING gifts and picking things out for people. So, guess what? I have partnered with nine other bloggers who are Sweat Pink or Fitfluential Ambassadors like me, and we are ALL doing give away’s next week!

We will be giving away things like Under Armour shoes and sports bra (I am doing the sports bra!), workout shirts, arm warmers, etc. The way it works is every day, morning and afternoon, I will be posting a link to one of the other ladies’ giveaways on my Facebook fan page. So, if you want to see what blogs have the giveaways, you need to be sure to like my Facebook page.

(Not the stuff I’m giving away, just some of my favorite Under Armour gear!)

Also it would be awesome if when you clicked through to each giveaway if you liked their Facebook page as well (not a requirement, just would rock!)

A huge thanks to Amanda from Fit Pregnancy and Parenting for setting this up! We all happened to be about to post giveaways, so we thought what better way to do it than for you to have the opportunity to enter TEN different giveaways over the course of a week?

So, be sure to like my Facebook fan page and then check back on it starting next Monday morning and afternoon every day to see a new giveaway on a different blog! Be sure to spread the Christmas cheer so others can enter as well!

*Last chance to enter the Woman’s Half Marathon, 10k, or 5k and SAVE! $30 off the half/10K and $5 off the 5k with code RPAHeather at checkout when you register! Ends TOMORROW! Going to be a fun race in Baton Rouge on December 9th!

Run Pink and sign up for the race!

I’ve got a couple of Sweaty Bands on the list, then a gift card to Dick’s. I’m really picky about what I wear, not only in workout gear but just general clothing, so I ask for gift cards. Then I let the person know what I got.

I have so many items on my wish list… but I would love a GPS watch, Vitamix blender, and even a Soda Stream (but I know that I won’t be receiving those from Santa… unless Bed Bath and Beyond has them for 75% off) 😉

Not to sound stalkerish, but were you at Newk’s today for lunch? If you were sorry if you felt like some creeper was staring at you, I was just trying to figure out were I knew you from. When my husband asked why I was staring I told him I think I follow her blog and he said just because she is wearing running clothes doesn’t mean she has a blog ha ha.

Omg yes! Where were you? I was probably frowning the whole time! My stomach has been giving me lots of trouble today/hurting but I knew I needed to eat something! Too funny!

I was pretty sure it was you after I saw your Walt Disney Marathon shirt. I think we were sitting at the second table from the entrance along the windows. My husband was in his Air Force uniform. You walked right by our table when you were leaving. Sorry about your stomach, hope it is feeling better.

I used to think dairy-free desserts were “just o I used to think dairy-free desserts were “just okay.” Like, fine in a pinch… but never something I craved. 👀

But then this little picnic happened—just me, my girl, and a sweet treat we both loved enough to fight over the last bite. 😅

We’ve been trying to be more mindful with food choices lately (especially with summer travel coming up), and I grabbed these So Delicious treats at Kroger kind of on a whim. The new packaging caught my eye, but it was the taste that totally surprised us. Creamy. Indulgent. No weird aftertaste. And no, we’re not fully dairy-free—and we still loved them.

It’s one of those little swaps that doesn’t feel like giving anything up.

And that? That’s a win for both of us. ✨@So_Delicious

🚨 Homeschool decision!! If you have been aroun 🚨 Homeschool decision!!

If you have been around here since Christmas time, then you know we pulled Emma Kate out of her private school after the first semester and put her in a hybrid homeschool for the spring. The main reason being we wanted more absences than the school allowed.

What is a hybrid? In our case, she went to a school all day 3 days a week, and we taught her at home two days a week.

It seemed like the best of both worlds, not having absences count since we were also her teachers, being able to stay home some, sleep in, and travel.

Well, it wasn’t all rainbows and butterflies. For one, the school we sent her to ended up not being what we thought. We were told being absent wouldn’t be a problem, but it became clear very early on her teacher was not a fan and she was not kind or accommodating to Emma Kate. There’s a lot of other reasons we didn’t blown the school I won’t go into. (If you are local and considering hybrid feel free to dm me and I will share my concerns and grievances.)

Teaching your kid is hard. There were lots of tears and frustrations, and she got bored since Bobby and I also work from home/I’m not a stay at hoke mom. We couldn’t just sit with her all day and teach her with our crazy long hours owning two businesses.

It was tough to keep a schedule and while getting to travel a lot was great, she didn’t thrive on not having a routine and struggled with the randomness of everything.

She is also a very social only child who missed her friends and also wants to play sports for her school.

In the end while there were a lot of pros to hybrid homeschool, the cons outweighed them for us so we are returning to her old school in the fall.

Am I glad we did it? Yes! I always would have wondered otherwise and now we know. We will still be pulling her out of school some to travel in the fall, just not as much.

If you have any questions feel free to drop them in the comments below and I will be happy to answer the best I can! 🩷
