Healthy Living Summit 2012: Day 1

August 18, 2012 | fitness, running

;

Hi friends! Yesterday was a whirlwind of a day! I am so tired but having a blast! Ok, so let’s backtrack. My morning started off with a solo run along the river. I decided I probably wasn’t going to get up for the Saturday run, so I decided to take on a few miles on my own. Let me tell you, it was BLISS! Not only was it scenic, but oh my gosh low humidity and temps. I was in HEAVEN!

There was a nice path that went along the water with the road on the other side. There were plenty of other bikers and runners out and about.

There were some nice shady areas as well.

I would love to have a great place like this to run all the time. Love.

After my run I took a quick shower and then it was time for the whole foods mini mingle!

Roomies!

Me and Lynda

Our group walked about 20 minutes to Whole Foods and we grabbed lunch at the salad bar.

Well, I got a turkey sandwich.

Then, we had to walk back because it was registration time! Team healthy Living Blogs, GO!

Bathroom photo fun.

We got everything ready for registration with only a few minor glitches. I was in the swag bag room with Mary and we were in charge of punching holes in people’s name badges and giving them their bags.

That’s not even all the bags.

We had a great time, and I am wiped. I will save the cocktail party for the next post.

Don’t forget, my session on social media trends is at 3:30 EST and people will be live tweeting, using the hashtag #HLSmedia so be sure to join in the fun!

QOTD: What item would you love to see in a swag bag?

Your run looks like it was amazing. It’s always so nice finding a great place to go on a run when you’re traveling. And it looks like everyone is having a fantastic time at HLS.

I always like to get things I haven’t tried before in my swag bags. Food samples are always welcome, especially if I get hungry. 🙂

So many people I know follow and like posts and st So many people I know follow and like posts and stories from content creators, but when it’s people they know in real life….forget about it. All of the sudden, we just don’t need or deserve the support. We just get lurkers. 💔

Women, I encourage you in 2026 to find a table where women champion other women. And I encourage all the ladies here to be a girl’s girl. There is room for everyone, and we ALL need a little support, even those that look like they have it all together.

Let’s commit to helping each other on AND offline. A simple smile, an “I love your dress” or “your kid did great in the school play” or “hang in there, you got this!” Goes a long way.

I will never understand people going out of their way to intentionally bypass a person online or in real life. People matter. It’s a tough time of year for a lot of people, so let’s all act like the friends we claim to be and be there for each other however we can. ❤️

This one is great for busy folks who want to make a “special” drink without too much fuss. 🎄

It’s literally just water frozen in the bottom of a glass with some rosemary taped in it. I waited a few hours the poured in some Prosecco and added in edible glitter (you can use multiple colors!) pretty and delicious, and keeps your drink cold! Cheers! 🥂 ❄️

The end of the year is always a time that I reflec The end of the year is always a time that I reflect on how things went, what I want to do different or better in the new year, and to be honest…I’m always really hard on myself.😕

I often end up sad or frustrated that things didn’t “turn out as planned.” But planned according to who? Success according to what?

As we were ice skating last weekend at Gaylord Opryland, laughing and just having so much fun as a family, I was hit with what I can only describe as a warm fuzzy. I wanted to smile and cry all at the same time. I thought to myself….this is it right here. 🥹

If nothing else good happens, I’ve got this and am so rich because of it. These moments. This is what I always prayed for as a girl when imagining my family one day. And it’s here, happening right now. I don’t want to wish it away waiting for the next big thing to happen.

I just want to ice skate with them in a place that makes us so happy. Wha a year. ⛸️ ❤️

It’s still Thanksgiving weekend so this counts as It’s still Thanksgiving weekend so this counts as a Thanksgiving post, right? 🦃🫶🏻

I took the day off on Thursday and then worked a ton Friday, EK had bball Saturday and then we went out of town. I realized I never posted for turkey day! 😜

I have so much to be thankful for, most days I feel completely undeserving. God has been good to us, even in the days that don’t feel so good. His plans may not make sense at the time, but thankfully He is the one that sees the whole picture, not us!

We are going into the Christmas season with hearts full of gratitude and love as we celebrate the birth of Jesus. This is the most special and my favorite time of year! Let the celebrating continue!

Lastly, I am thankful for all of YOU! For liking, commenting on, and watching my content over the years. Without you, my career doesn’t exist and I am beyond thankful for the opportunities this job has given me. So THANK YOU! 🫶🏻
