Homemade Sugar Cookies

August 23, 2010 | Uncategorized

These are the best cookies. But, the icing is what makes them spectacular, so don’t leave it out!

Sugar Cookies:
2 cups all purpose flour
1-1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1 tablespoon evaporated milk
1-1/2 teaspoons vanilla

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Sift flour, baking powder, and salt and set aside. Cream butter and sugar. Add egg milk, and vanilla. Add flour mixture. Roll out to about 1/8 to1/4 inch thick, and cut into shapes. Bake for about 10 minutes.

Icing:
2 cups confectioners sugar
1/4 stick butter
1/4 cup evaporated milk
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
A few drops of food coloring if you want a color besides white. Mix all together. Brush on cookies. It depends on how thick you want your icing, you can add more evaporated milk for thinner icing, or more powdered sugar for thicker icing. It takes a few hours for the icing to harden.

So many people I know follow and like posts and st So many people I know follow and like posts and stories from content creators, but when it’s people they know in real life….forget about it. All of the sudden, we just don’t need or deserve the support. We just get lurkers. 💔

Women, I encourage you in 2026 to find a table where women champion other women. And I encourage all the ladies here to be a girl’s girl. There is room for everyone, and we ALL need a little support, even those that look like they have it all together.

Let’s commit to helping each other on AND offline. A simple smile, an “I love your dress” or “your kid did great in the school play” or “hang in there, you got this!” Goes a long way.

I will never understand people going out of their way to intentionally bypass a person online or in real life. People matter. It’s a tough time of year for a lot of people, so let’s all act like the friends we claim to be and be there for each other however we can. ❤️

This one is great for busy folks who want to make a “special” drink without too much fuss. 🎄

It’s literally just water frozen in the bottom of a glass with some rosemary taped in it. I waited a few hours the poured in some Prosecco and added in edible glitter (you can use multiple colors!) pretty and delicious, and keeps your drink cold! Cheers! 🥂 ❄️
