How To Lose Your Quarantine 15

June 22, 2020 | holidays

According to a new survey from King’s College London and Ipsos MORI, 48 percent of people say they have put on weight during the quarantine. This number is perfectly understandable and in fact wouldn’t come as much of a shock if the number was a higher as people are stressed, worried, they are spending more time at home, and also, at the beginning the pandemic many people had to buy whatever they could find on the shelves as stockpilers, and panic buyers had bought most of the good stuff. This panic buying meant that the limited food available for many people might not have been the healthiest of choices or food they would normally eat.

It’s important to remember that when trying to lose the weight, there is no one size fits all approach, everyone is different and what may work for one person may not for another. It comes down to personal preference as well as how your mind works. Some people love to have structure; others want the freedom to eat their favorites, some people love to cook, and others find it difficult and want meals that are easy to prepare. Whatever your preference, there will be a way that works for you, you just have to find it. Here are four different ways you could lose your quarantine 15 and help you to start feeling better.

Start Slowly

During this challenging time, trying to give up food is pretty difficult to do, so if you want to start losing some pounds, then small changes are the way to go. It is a good idea to focus on what you can add to your diet rather than what you need to take away as dieting can make you feel negative, and in this already challenging times, it’s not what you need. Try planning nice healthy meals that you’ll look forward to and add in an extra portion of fruit or vegetables throughout the day. Switch to healthier versions of food and make sure that you drink more water. This is a great way to get started because then you’ll start to feel like you’ve achieved something with just a little change, and this will spur you on to keep going.

Try an online weight loss plan

If you’d prefer something a little more strict, then try an online weight loss plan. There’s so many to choose from, but something like the Hcg Diet Plan (https://hcgdietinfo.com), which describes itself as a ‘bad habit-basher, mindset-shifting, game-changer,’ is the kind of thing you’re looking for if you want maximum results. The fact that we’re still doing a lot more at home could make sticking to a plan like this easier. At this minute, for many people, there is no temptation of going out or restaurants, and if you are spending more time at home, then you have the time to prepare your meals where you might normally struggle.

Exercise more

Exercise is not only important for your physical health, but it is important for your mental wellbeing too. Again because you maybe have more time than usual, then you should embrace this by getting active. It doesn’t mean you have to force yourself to start running or doing burpees and push-ups, it’s important to find something you enjoy doing so that you’re more likely to stick to it long term. Now is the perfect time to try things out too, you can try almost anything from the comfort of your living room with an online class. It could be a home workout, a yoga class, pilates, dance – you name it, you’ll find it. Then, of course, it’s a good idea to get some fresh air too, so going out for a walk or bike ride is a great idea too. Plan your exercise into your week or day ahead of time so that it’s something you know you have to do.

Find something else to comfort you

Many people comfort eat, they find that food cheers them up, it gives them something to look forward to, and it is a treat. Given that life has been turned upside down and its been that way for a while now, it is no surprise that food as being the way many people have found comfort. However, no one knows how long it will take for things to get back to normal, and as comfort eating doesn’t help in the long run, it’s important to find something else that will help. Look for comfort in healthier self-care practices, such as writing, meditating, reading, listening to music, or whatever feels right for you.

Good luck, I know you can do it!

their own Christmas traditions,
it will be you they mirror.
Your family recipes,
the Christmas songs,
the nostalgic smell.

When they think of Christmas,
it will be YOU, not the presents
that they remember.

You are their memories.
You are their magic.
You are their Christmas. ❤️🎄

So slow down. Stop worrying if the presents are wrapped just right, if you baked enough cookies or picked out the right cards to send. It doesn’t matter. They will remember YOU.
