Disclosure: This post is sponsored by Gaylord Opryland, however, all opinions are my own.
We have only been to Gaylord Opryland once during the Christmas season, and ICE was not on display. We were so excited to be invited back and experience ICE for the first time! I grew up with Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer on VHS, (yes, I’m old) and so I couldn’t wait for all the noistolgia! (Note, each Gaylord location has a difference theme!)
This post is mainly about ICE, but I will also mention some of the other fun happenings at Gaylord during the Christmas season!
ICE! is back!: When you purchase tickets for ICE, you are given a specific time to come to Pinetop and enjoy the experience. Dress warmly, it is 9 degrees inside! However, you are given an oversized parka to borrow, which easily fit over my winter clothes. (We also brought hats and gloves, and they helped a lot!) After you don your parka, you get to take a stroll through ICE and can stay and enjoy at your pace. There are SO many scenes from the movie, and we loved it! At the end there was a fun slide made of ice you get to go down, which was silly and fun to do and see others doing! Our favorite part was the end, where there was a gorgeous ice nativity scene. It was truly spectacular. These ice carvers are SO talented! I don’t want to spoil it too much so will just post a couple photos.
Ice Skating, tubing, and bumper cars: This was a huge hit with Emma Kate last year, and did not disappoint again this year. She would have stayed on the ice all day if we would have let her, she LOVED ice skating. We had wristbands to play as long as we wanted for the day, which was nice if you want to go back and forth. This was also a highlight of our weekend.
Parade of Trees: The atriums are adorned with gorgeous trees decorated by different country music artists. They are auctioning them off for charity, which I just love! You can get more information on this website or on the instagram accounts @umgnashville, @charitystars, @1strcf, and @vumchildrens
Gingerbread decorating corner and Scavenger hunt: The morning we went home we decorated out gingerbread house and completed the scavenger hunt, and it was a great relaxing way to spend the morning. You get a prize for finishing the scavenger hunt, and can take your gingerbread house home with you!
A huge thanks to Gaylord Opryland for hosting us during the most magical time of year!
