Hey everyone! It’s a chilly here in south Louisiana! I hope everyone had a fab weekend. Mine was busy with lots of driving. In case you need to catch up, Friday, I finally did my accent vlog. Saturday, I talked about the reality of my move which is coming up very, very soon. Yesterday I was super busy, drove back to NOLA just in time to catch most of the Superbowl, then went to bed. Sorry guys! But I am back!
Oh, also, I was featured in a guest post on Melinda’s blog! You can check it out HERE.
I DID manage to run yesterday though! Bobby and I did our first long run since Disney, and our last long run before the Mardi Gras half marathon next Sunday! It was an absolutely beautiful day! Not a cloud in the sky, about 56 degrees, absolutely gorgeous. We did 8 miles, fairly easily. It’s so funny how that doesn’t seem like a very long run to me anymore. yeah, marathon training screws you up like that.
Did everyone watch the Super Bowl? It was sad for me, because this time last year, my awesome Saints were taking home the trophy. It was such a fun night, very magical for the city of New Orleans and all Saints fans!
Here is the Super Bowl post I did last year: ‘Aints No More.
Also, this is an e mail I got, a short video about the Saints championship season. It made me cry! VIDEO.
As sad as I was, I am glad a team from the NFC won. I am also glad a quarterback who hasn’t had the chance to win before got the win. (Sorry, I am NOT Big Ben’s biggest fan. He is a creep.)
This weekend marks a fun time for us, as we are running the Mardi Gras Rock n Roll half marathon again! We had so much fun last year, we thought we would do it again! I ran with Karen last year, and we will be running together again this year. Here are my recaps from the race and weekend from last year, go check them out! Go HERE and scroll down to “Mardi Gras half.”
One last thing, Bobby went by our new house on his way to the coast last night. It was locked, of course, but he looked in the windows and we have appliances, and the wood floors are all down! YAY! He took a couple pics of the outside as well:
of course the one pic I REALLY wanted to see, is blurry. Way to go Bobby. They still have to do the railings, the shutters, and the front door will be black.
I think that’s all the updates for now. Have a great afternoon!
QOTD: What was your favorite super bowl commercial? I liked the Doritos one!
Crystal says
So excited for your house! 🙂
Didn’t watch all the commercials, but the doritos ones were awesome, also the darth vader one.
Heather says
darth vader was hilarious!!!
Eliz@The Sweet Life says
Love the porches–so fun!
Heather says
thats my favorite part!
Morgan @ Becoming Rooks says
Is the garage in the back of the house? That’s Jeff’s dream: he hates when you pull up to a house and all you see is garage. The porches are just beautiful; I love front porches. They are a rarity here; a lot of cookie cutter pre-fab houses from the 50s in these parts.
Heather says
yes 🙂 we have an alley behind our house for the garages. the neighborhood basically forces you to put a porch on the front so you will be social with your neighbors and not hide out in your backyard which i love!
Emily says
i liked the doritos one too! i’m so jealous of your upcoming race. it’s totally on my running bucket list!
Heather says
is a super fun one!
Rachel says
Okay.. I’m pretty sure I am in love with your house. 🙂 Even the blurry pic looks great!
Heather says
haha thank you!
Kelly says
You’re house is beautiful! I bet you can’t wait to decorate. I actually didn’t see an entire commercial. We did girlie activities at the super bowl party I attended while the guys watched the game. We did however watch the half time show. 🙂
Heather says
sounds fun!
the halftime show was cool, but I thought the vocals were awful!
Jen says
I actually didn’t watch any of the Superbowl or commercials! When the Giants won 3 years ago, it was definitely the happiest time in my life. I’m so glad a “new” team got to win!
The house looks great!
Heather says
you didnt watch at all???? lol! I know. I was so hapy last year. sad times.
Holley says
You’re house looks gorgeous! I think so blurry picture and all 🙂 I am jealous of your wood floors! I would love to have wood floors (esp in my kitchen – I love how it looks), I have all tile. in the non-bedroom areas.
Heather says
thanks, we close the 19th! I cant wait.
Karen says
Aaaah your house is almost done! Woohoo! Can’t wait for this weekend!!!! :0)
Heather says

Karen says
I’m not sure if I was supposed to do this or not, but I nominated you for an award! :0) (Cause I’m not sure if it’s a “blogger” award…oh well)

Lily's Health Pad says
Your house is seriously gorgeous!!!
Heather says
thanks mam!
Becky says
I love the porches on your house! It’s going up fast!
I honestly didn’t pay attention to many of the Superbowl commercials, but I did watch the game! Usually it’s the other way around, but I went to a big Packers bash this year.
Heather says
thanks!
haha my mom and I were joking, do you go to the bathroom during the commercials or the game? usually its the commercials but we didn’t want to miss any good ones!
Bethany says
wait, what? is that a porch on BOTH levels!?! whoa, that is so cool! I’m wondering, is that a southern thing? i’ve never seen that before…we don’t have that here in New England. a lot of people have a big porch on the ground floor and maybe a balcony on the second floor but not another porch level. that is SO cool!!!! Most houses here are “salt boxes” or “colonials.”
good luck at your half this weekend. I’m glad Grenn Bay won too, Ben is a TOTAL creep. Last year’s win was a big deal for us too because Ryan’s dad has been a Saints fan his whole life! have a blast this weekend!!!
Heather says
haha yes it is a southern thing, I LOVE the look. most of the houses in my new neighborhood look like that, or some variation of it. that was a requirement. the master on the 2nd floor with a door going out to the balcony!
