Making a House a Home Part I

April 4, 2011 | Uncategorized

Catching up from the weekend? It was a great one! Saturday we spectated at a Triathlon, and yesterday my parents came for a visit!

It’s Monday AGAIN?!? it’s gloomy and windy here, it is supposed to rain later. I don’t mind the rain but hate the wind/tornados that always seem to come with it! I have been busy working on quotes for clients this morning from Disney to Sandals to cruises! Fun stuff! I am about to start LEVEL TWO of the 6 pack in 6 weeks video. No 6 pack yet…I am still hopeful!

As promised, I have some new house pictures for you. Basically, I took pictures of the only clean/rooms without boxes! Everything is still not how I want it…I haven’t been able to buy anything I want for the house (decorations, curtains, etc.) Maybe someday! But this is what I have “done” so far…

Downstairs guest bath

I am also pretty much done with the laundry room. I still don’t have the sink area how I want it, but it’s getting there.

we hang our keys on the black key hanger, and I keep my purse up there as well, so when I come home through the garage (to the right of laundry room) I can drop my stuff right there! The girls wanted to be in the picture, too.

This is part of the living room, the back corner that we weren’t sure what to do with!

Bella says hi

it was a beautiful day so I also took some outside pictures…but will save those for another day this week!

The wind is REALLY picking up here. Yikes! Ok I am off to do my workout and get that 6 pack! Have a great day everyone!

QOTD: What do you do to make your house/living space more “homey?”

That is a sweet shower curtain in the guest bath!

I’m horrible at making our apartments/townhouses homey. I don’t like putting forth the effort when I know with in the next 12-24 months we will be moving again. I’m too cheap to spend the money on anything that we will only be using for a year (assuming it won’t work the next place). I’ve hung some photos in our place but really, that is about it. Oh, and I’m attempting to keep plants alive…success so far!

Awesome!!! We just moved into a new townhouse about 1.5 weeks ago and it’s been HELL unpacking! Haha. We have every room unpacked but the two “extra” rooms which basically just have a bunch of junk stuffed in them.

I just keep reminding myself it’s a process and doesn’t have to happen all at once!

thats exactly how ours is. the two extra bedrooms (guest room and office) are still quite cluttered, but I can just shut those door and not look haha!

Wow, everything is coming along so nicely 🙂 I make my house homey by throwing my junk around; kidding! I actually needed my mom to decorate because I have zero domestic genes!

So many people I know follow and like posts and st So many people I know follow and like posts and stories from content creators, but when it’s people they know in real life….forget about it. All of the sudden, we just don’t need or deserve the support. We just get lurkers. 💔

Women, I encourage you in 2026 to find a table where women champion other women. And I encourage all the ladies here to be a girl’s girl. There is room for everyone, and we ALL need a little support, even those that look like they have it all together.

Let’s commit to helping each other on AND offline. A simple smile, an “I love your dress” or “your kid did great in the school play” or “hang in there, you got this!” Goes a long way.

I will never understand people going out of their way to intentionally bypass a person online or in real life. People matter. It’s a tough time of year for a lot of people, so let’s all act like the friends we claim to be and be there for each other however we can. ❤️
