Memorial Day is usually the start of nice weather “up North”! And what a great weekend for us. As always, we went to the Memorial Day parade in our town, then drove over to the city where I grew up (about 10 minutes away) and placed flags on the graves of our family veterans and said a few prayers. My son’s birthday falls on this weekend so we always have a joint birthday/Memorial day family party – this year was no exception. The solar cover heated the pool water up enough so everyone could swim (definitely NOT always the case!) The past 3 weeks have been incredibly busy as a family – my husband is taking a few night classes at a local university to finish a couple of grad courses up, kids had AP exams, SATS, ACTs (coming up), end of year assignments, basketball tournaments, lacrossse games, track invitationals, etc – so while we “should” have done yard work, we kind of just collapsed around the pool and enjoyed family time. Best weekend in a long time!!

We did a little car test driving, as I am looking for a new car. Then my mom and I participated in our first 5k yesterday! I’m a new runner, so this was my first race!

I actually took time and really cleaned my kitchen. My roommates and I have been neglecting it for a while, so it was finally time to get it done. And I must say, it looks GREAT now 🙂

Ran a 10k…in brutal heat!! I’m glad that race is over! Hard to believe it’s already SO humid and in upper 80s in Southern VA in late May. I’m already dreading my summer training runs. Other than that, normal Memorial Day activities – pool, bbq, etc.
BTW, your yard looks fabulous – nice work! 🙂

I love your yard! But I think I love that black dress more! 🙂

I ran my 1st 10k race Monday-virtual run. I ALMOST died! It was so hot here in Alabama-even at 6pm. Now I’m looking for a “real” 10k to sign up for at the end of this month or July.

So many people I know follow and like posts and st So many people I know follow and like posts and stories from content creators, but when it’s people they know in real life….forget about it. All of the sudden, we just don’t need or deserve the support. We just get lurkers. 💔

Women, I encourage you in 2026 to find a table where women champion other women. And I encourage all the ladies here to be a girl’s girl. There is room for everyone, and we ALL need a little support, even those that look like they have it all together.

Let’s commit to helping each other on AND offline. A simple smile, an “I love your dress” or “your kid did great in the school play” or “hang in there, you got this!” Goes a long way.

I will never understand people going out of their way to intentionally bypass a person online or in real life. People matter. It’s a tough time of year for a lot of people, so let’s all act like the friends we claim to be and be there for each other however we can. ❤️

This one is great for busy folks who want to make a “special” drink without too much fuss. 🎄

It’s literally just water frozen in the bottom of a glass with some rosemary taped in it. I waited a few hours the poured in some Prosecco and added in edible glitter (you can use multiple colors!) pretty and delicious, and keeps your drink cold! Cheers! 🥂 ❄️

The end of the year is always a time that I reflec The end of the year is always a time that I reflect on how things went, what I want to do different or better in the new year, and to be honest…I’m always really hard on myself.😕

I often end up sad or frustrated that things didn’t “turn out as planned.” But planned according to who? Success according to what?

As we were ice skating last weekend at Gaylord Opryland, laughing and just having so much fun as a family, I was hit with what I can only describe as a warm fuzzy. I wanted to smile and cry all at the same time. I thought to myself….this is it right here. 🥹

If nothing else good happens, I’ve got this and am so rich because of it. These moments. This is what I always prayed for as a girl when imagining my family one day. And it’s here, happening right now. I don’t want to wish it away waiting for the next big thing to happen.

I just want to ice skate with them in a place that makes us so happy. Wha a year. ⛸️ ❤️

It’s still Thanksgiving weekend so this counts as It’s still Thanksgiving weekend so this counts as a Thanksgiving post, right? 🦃🫶🏻

I took the day off on Thursday and then worked a ton Friday, EK had bball Saturday and then we went out of town. I realized I never posted for turkey day! 😜

I have so much to be thankful for, most days I feel completely undeserving. God has been good to us, even in the days that don’t feel so good. His plans may not make sense at the time, but thankfully He is the one that sees the whole picture, not us!

We are going into the Christmas season with hearts full of gratitude and love as we celebrate the birth of Jesus. This is the most special and my favorite time of year! Let the celebrating continue!

Lastly, I am thankful for all of YOU! For liking, commenting on, and watching my content over the years. Without you, my career doesn’t exist and I am beyond thankful for the opportunities this job has given me. So THANK YOU! 🫶🏻
