Providence Race Pictures

August 12, 2011 | Uncategorized

Happy Friday! I am so excited for the weekend! Not to mention, the Saints play tonight. I know its just preseason, but I am still so excited the boys of fall are BACK! I am going to wear the new jersey Bobby got me at the end of last season tonight. I can’t wait!

So, the official photos for RnR Providence are up. It’s hard to tell in the small pictures just how hard it was raining, but I still think the pictures are quite comical…..because I LOOKE fine/happy and like I am having fun…but LIES the pictures are all LIES! See for yourself.

btw…that specific tank soaking wet is not very flattering on me.

below you can see my phone in my pocket in it’s awesome ziploc bag to keep it dry. heh.

So after the race I hurried back to the room after grabbing my medal and a banana and water, quickly showered and packed up and we got a cab for the airport. My flight was at 12:55 and I didn’t want to miss it because I had a 3 hour layover in Charlotte and Jen was going to take me to lunch! When I went to check in, I was told my flight was delayed TWO HOURS! I was crushed! I texted Jen and told her the bad news. Since technically I could still make my connecting flight, I just needed to get to Charlotte and then have a short layover then take my flight to NOLA. What a bummer.

Michelle’s flight wasn’t till 1:30 so we sat at Starbucks and hung out a little longer before she had to go.

Our gates were by each other so we walked together, said our goodbyes, and I settled in for my long wait. An hour and a gate change later, and I was on the plane to Charlotte. In the back of the plane. Next to a screaming baby. A SCREAMING baby. Just my luck.

I landed in Charlotte and was starving so I headed for some food after checking to see that my flight was on time. (6:00)

After I ate, I checked my flight status again…DELAYED! until 7:25! gah! I was so frustrated, I had already sat around for an hour, and if I had known this when I landed I maybe could have seen Jen! I went to find somewhere to plug my cell phone in, sat around, then saw we were delayed AGAIN to 8:55! They came over the speakers and said that we had a plane but no crew…that they were bringing in a crew from Pittsburgh….but they hadn’t left yet. WHAT? They hadn’t even LEFT Pitt yet…I just had this…feeling, that it was going to be way later than 8:55…so I texted Jen and asked her if she could come pick me up and I could spend the night at her house, and checked with my mom to make sure she could get me tomorrow from the NOLA airport. Then I asked for a ticket change to the next day and said I was NOT paying extra for it! They didn’t say a word, I think they saw the anger, exhaustion, and fire shooting out of my eyeballs…. and they gave me a ticket for 11:20 the next day!

I was so excited, I was going to get to see Jen and Jeff after all and finally meet her sweet dog Nati. She picked me up, and we went to the store so I could get a toothbrush, etc. (my checked bag was en route to NOLA hhmmm) but luckily I had a change of clothes.

We chatted that night and the next morning before I had to go back to the airport.  It went by too fast! It was so good to see her, and I am so glad I get to see them both again in a few weeks in Disney!

(In case some of you are wondering, Jen and I have been friends for about 5 years, but hardly ever get to see each other…and it’s usually on Disney trips that we plan together. This will be our FOURTH Disney trip together!) When your friend lives in a different state, meeting up somewhere you both love works well!

QOTD: Do you ever buy the professional race pictures?

I’m considering buying mine from the Bix 7, it was an awesome race and I like having pictures of me running every once in a while… I don’t have any recent ones right now. But they cost more than the race itself! I think I’m going to wait til I run Rock n Roll St Louis to pick out which pictures I like better (Bix or the Rock N Roll). I’m definitely not going to spring for both!

I know! you are right, they can end up costing more than the race!

I ordered the obscenely priced gallery downloads from my first few Disney races. Other than that, no. I also don’t usually have anyone taking my picture as I run unless I’m running with ROTE so there ya go.
So, you can actually run with your phone in your skirt pocket? For some reason, I can’t…my skirt would be at my knees! Bummer, since the main reason I tried a skirt in the first place was because I couldn’t find ANY shorts that had pockets! LOL. Oh well. I always wear a belt anyway…

BTW, these pics definitely show how well runningskirts hold up in the rain! You may feel like a drowned rat but at least you still look cute! 🙂

I do the same thing with a few of my friends that live out of state – we usually plan Disney trips together!!

I was going to say it depends on the pictures, but no, I usually am I sucker for those and buy the pictures. But it probably has to be an “A” race. The “B” races I don’t usually buy the photos.

There are a few race pictures I want to buy but I haven’t pulled the trigger because they are just so darn expensive! UGH!

Those pictures definitely make the run look wet! Kudos again for dominating your half!

As for the airport…how annoying! At least you were in a city where who had someone to call! It all turned out in the end, this time! 😉

#ad #BraunPartner Less time shaving. More time liv #ad #BraunPartner Less time shaving. More time living thanks to @BraunBeautyUS Smart IPL. ✨

I didn’t realize how much mental space hair removal was taking up until it just… wasn’t anymore. Between games, trips, and everything in between, having something I can do at home in minutes has been a total game changer. The app-guided treatments keep me consistent without having to think about it, and I’m already noticing smoother skin that actually lasts. And yes — the full-body, 10-minute-at-home situation still feels a little unreal.

If you’ve been on the fence, Prime Day (June 14–27) is definitely the moment to check it out with $120 off. #BraunSmartIPL

We didn’t set out looking for a “perfect” trip… we We didn’t set out looking for a “perfect” trip… we just needed a break from the noise.
What we found in Florida was something better than that. #ad

Our first stop in Auburndale was all about slowing down in the best way. We stayed in a cozy tiny home at Camp Margaritaville (you can also stay in an RV!). We enjoyed coffee on the porch, our daughter loved the pool and waterslide (there is even a splash zone for the littles!), and at night we slowed things down with s’mores instead of screens. It felt like nature + comfort + family time all finally in the same place. They have so many other amenities like mini golf, golf cart rentals, pickleball, a playground, cornhole, and more. Nearby, we explored the Florida Children’s Museum and had incredible food and drinks at Smith’s American Tavern and Black & Brew Coffee.

Then, we headed over to Fort Myers to experience a completely different side of the state. Shelling walks at sunrise, beach volleyball, pool cabanas, and the kind of Gulf sunsets that make everyone go quiet for a minute. Direct beach access at the Margaritaville Beach Resort Fort Myers made it effortless to go from “let’s check it out” to toes in the sand in minutes. There were several restaurants on property, so we never even got in our car. That plus live music, fire pits, the spa, and lawn games made it easy to want to stay put and relax.

What stood out most wasn’t just the scenery… it was how easy it was to actually be together here. No rushing or overplanning. That’s the true Floridays feeling for me. Laid-back, a little unexpected, and exactly what we didn’t know we needed. 🌴☀️

One of our favorite family activities in Pigeon Forge because you can snow tube year-round, rain or shine, without worrying about the weather outside.

My daughter could do the tubing hill over and over, and the indoor snow play area makes it even more fun. Honestly such a good break from the summer heat. Plus, it’s super close to nearby attractions like Dollywood and several mountain coasters.

✨ Meet Minnie before you even enter the restaurant and get photos with her + a photopass photographer.
✨ Food is all you can eat. Minnie waffles, bacon, eggs, pastries, fruit, and more!
✨ Multiple characters visit your table throughout the meal.

This was such a fun way to start a park day and meet several characters without spending part of the day waiting in character lines.

Getting in a walk or run when I can. Actually drinking my water. Sticking to a skincare routine instead of overthinking it. Paying attention to my hair and scalp instead of just throwing it up and moving on. Nothing extreme, just consistency in the basics.

I’ve also been using Mochi Health for personalized skincare and hair support, and it’s made it way easier to stay on track without guessing what my skin or hair needs.

Dancing Bear Appalachian Bistro took part in Cork to Fork on the Tennessee Whiskey Trail, and every bite felt like a love letter to local flavor. From bourbon-glazed pork belly to a warm cinnamon-bourbon bread pudding that honestly didn’t stand a chance at our table… this was one of those meals you remember.

Mountain views, chef-driven dishes, and whiskey worked right into the menu in the best way. 😋
