Race Recap Pictures and an Award

May 17, 2010 | Uncategorized

As promised here are my pictures from my “real” camera.
This is before we left the house, in my ROTE mouse”skirt”ears shirt!
It was cloudy so I didn’t wear my hat for once.

a picture of the starting/finish line. You can almost SEE the humidity!

race shirt. I liked how it wasn’t white. White is so boring.

putting our bibs on, hanging out at the car before the start

Bobby after the race. eewww haha!

I wanted to add something very interesting…I PLACED THIRD IN THE 20-29 AGE GROUP! haha! I had no idea! I would have stayed for the awards if I had known! I am supposed to get a plaque or something, we will see what happens. Too funny! It will probably never happen again! Just thought I would share :o)

Hope everyone had a good day. I did 30 minutes of a cardio video and am trying to decide if I want to go run…my ankle says no. hhmmm

QOTD: Have you ever placed in a race?

I have placed in a race several times………..in elementary school lol. I would win first and second place in all the sprints and distance runs. Does this count?

I placed once. In a local 10k. I was first in my age division…out of two! Hehehe. I felt very silly getting my award, especially since I had not run a very strong race at all.

Congrats on the 3rd place finish! BTW I noticed you had headphones – do you get any flak for wearing them during a race? My first 5k is in a month and I cannot imagine running without my tunes!

    • runningwithsass says

      May 18, 2010 at 8:43 am

No, but I also have never worn them in a race that specifically asked you not to. I only wear them for little local 5k’s. Both of my halfs I didn’t wear them (I was runnign with other people so we talked the whole time!)

    • runningwithsass says

ohhh are you trying to turn him into a runner?

  15. Becky says

    May 24, 2010 at 4:40 pm

Yes!!!!! So far I got him bit by the “soccer bug” – and he is awesome!!! Now I just gotta move to running. The thing is, my hubby is the kind of guy who if there is no ball, then there is no reason to run! 😛 Has Bobby always been a runner? Any suggestions for getting my guy into it? 😛

    • runningwithsass says

      May 24, 2010 at 5:17 pm

no he gets so bored running. BUT, he loves to compete so he loves races/trianing for them, and we like to spend time together running and we chat while we run, etc. Has he ever done a race? if not, yall need to enter a local 5k or something and he should get bitten by the racing bug if he likes to compete!

It’s been one month since my Virgin Voyages crui It’s been one month since my Virgin Voyages cruise and I’m still confused why no one is cooking gourmet food for me, or bringing me cocktails all day long. 😩

I had a super comfy bed with real cabin space, a tablet to control the lights, TV and curtains (I felt like a queen), and don’t even get me started on the food—every meal was ✨a moment.✨

Now I’m home reheating leftovers and wondering why my house doesn’t have mood lighting and a spa within walking distance.

10/10 would get spoiled again. 💅

I used to think dairy-free desserts were “just o I used to think dairy-free desserts were “just okay.” Like, fine in a pinch… but never something I craved. 👀

But then this little picnic happened—just me, my girl, and a sweet treat we both loved enough to fight over the last bite. 😅

We’ve been trying to be more mindful with food choices lately (especially with summer travel coming up), and I grabbed these So Delicious treats at Kroger kind of on a whim. The new packaging caught my eye, but it was the taste that totally surprised us. Creamy. Indulgent. No weird aftertaste. And no, we’re not fully dairy-free—and we still loved them.

It’s one of those little swaps that doesn’t feel like giving anything up.

And that? That’s a win for both of us. ✨@So_Delicious
