RnRNOLA Tweet Up

January 22, 2015 | Uncategorized

It’s finally here! My post baby half marathon debut at the Rock ‘n Roll New Orleans half marathon! I can’t wait to have some fun with this race. I am not in shape to PR, but this race is all about proving to myself that I can do this distance again.

Bobby and I leave for New Orleans tomorrow afternoon. We are dropping Emma Kate off at my parents house outside of NOLA, then heading to our hotel for the weekend! Now for the fun part: Saturday we are having a tweet up at Café du Monde! There will be several Rock ‘n Bloggers there, and beignets, of course, so who can resist that?

RnB15_NOLATweetup (2)

If you or anyone you know is running, come to this event, then walk over to the expo after, it’s not far! We will be answering questions about the race itself, chatting about other RnR races, Tweeting, and taking lots of selfies! We would love to meet you, even if you just stop by for a few minutes!

WHEN: Saturday at 10:30 am.

WHERE: Café Du Monde, Decatur Street

WHO: Everyone!

ccc12

If you have questions you can ask them here, or find me on social media and ask. When talking about the event be sure to use #RnRTWEETUP and #RnRNOLA so we can chat back at ya! Hope to see you Saturday morning.

QOTD: Have you ever been to a Tweet up?

Not sure if I’ll make it or not since I’ll be with a big group of friends but I’m going to try! If not…we must meet up on Sunday at some point! 🙂

Wow. You seem to be leaving your brand new baby quite a lot. New Orleans, then Disney. Aren’t you going to Los Angeles soon also? I could not imagine wanting to leave my babies at that age. So much happens every single day!

Yup! 36 whole hours away from her while i will be 30 minutes away, while shes with my parents. And I am so looking forward to it. 😉 disney in a month, then LA for a weekend a month after that.
Moms need a break. Everyone is different and i feel completly fine leaving her with my parents and her father. I promise she will forgive me, and even understand one day.

Do you know what I could not imagine doing? Judging another mother. It’s so sad that some moms find the need to criticize others when they don’t agree with their choices. If we all mothered the same way, life would be so boring.

I have never been to or even heard of a Tweet Up, but HOW EXCITING!! If I was running the race, I’d for sure be there! I love that they have a rock ‘n’ blog thing that bloggers can participate in! I’d love to know how to get involved in that if I run a rock ‘n’ roll marathon!

So many people I know follow and like posts and st So many people I know follow and like posts and stories from content creators, but when it’s people they know in real life….forget about it. All of the sudden, we just don’t need or deserve the support. We just get lurkers. 💔

Women, I encourage you in 2026 to find a table where women champion other women. And I encourage all the ladies here to be a girl’s girl. There is room for everyone, and we ALL need a little support, even those that look like they have it all together.

Let’s commit to helping each other on AND offline. A simple smile, an “I love your dress” or “your kid did great in the school play” or “hang in there, you got this!” Goes a long way.

I will never understand people going out of their way to intentionally bypass a person online or in real life. People matter. It’s a tough time of year for a lot of people, so let’s all act like the friends we claim to be and be there for each other however we can. ❤️

This one is great for busy folks who want to make a “special” drink without too much fuss. 🎄

It’s literally just water frozen in the bottom of a glass with some rosemary taped in it. I waited a few hours the poured in some Prosecco and added in edible glitter (you can use multiple colors!) pretty and delicious, and keeps your drink cold! Cheers! 🥂 ❄️

The end of the year is always a time that I reflec The end of the year is always a time that I reflect on how things went, what I want to do different or better in the new year, and to be honest…I’m always really hard on myself.😕

I often end up sad or frustrated that things didn’t “turn out as planned.” But planned according to who? Success according to what?

As we were ice skating last weekend at Gaylord Opryland, laughing and just having so much fun as a family, I was hit with what I can only describe as a warm fuzzy. I wanted to smile and cry all at the same time. I thought to myself….this is it right here. 🥹

If nothing else good happens, I’ve got this and am so rich because of it. These moments. This is what I always prayed for as a girl when imagining my family one day. And it’s here, happening right now. I don’t want to wish it away waiting for the next big thing to happen.

I just want to ice skate with them in a place that makes us so happy. Wha a year. ⛸️ ❤️

It’s still Thanksgiving weekend so this counts as It’s still Thanksgiving weekend so this counts as a Thanksgiving post, right? 🦃🫶🏻

I took the day off on Thursday and then worked a ton Friday, EK had bball Saturday and then we went out of town. I realized I never posted for turkey day! 😜

I have so much to be thankful for, most days I feel completely undeserving. God has been good to us, even in the days that don’t feel so good. His plans may not make sense at the time, but thankfully He is the one that sees the whole picture, not us!

We are going into the Christmas season with hearts full of gratitude and love as we celebrate the birth of Jesus. This is the most special and my favorite time of year! Let the celebrating continue!

Lastly, I am thankful for all of YOU! For liking, commenting on, and watching my content over the years. Without you, my career doesn’t exist and I am beyond thankful for the opportunities this job has given me. So THANK YOU! 🫶🏻
