runDisney recently released the 2014 medals for the Tower of Terror race weekend that will take place at the beginning of October. I love the hitchhiking ghosts on the 5k medal, and am glad they are still sticking with the super cool 10 miler medal with moveable parts, itās one of my favorites!
Last year was my first year to run this race, and I ended up really, really loving it. We stayed at the Boardwalk Inn, so simply walked over to the race start, and then back to the resort after the party. The ten mile distance was perfect for a humid Florida eveningā¦just when I started getting really tired, the race was over! I originally wasnāt a huge fan of the night time races but have truly grown to love them. There were a lot of fun characters on the course that you donāt normally see at a typical runDisney race, and of course after parties are a lot of fun!
You can check out my race recap from last yearās event for some motivation, or just to know what to expect on race day. I am super bummed I wonāt be there this year (my due date is just 3-4 days before the race!) But hopefully will be able to run it again in the future.

QOTD: Have you ever run a night race? Thoughts on this yearās medals?

I LOVE the 10-miler medal so much and want it so badly! They’ll probably change the design the year I finally do it with my luck haha.
I was so mad I had to leave Fitbloggin before runDisney revealed the new medals. I think they look beautiful! I’ve never run a night race, but I have the feeling that it would be a easy favorite for me.
oh bummer you had to go!
I am hoping to run TOT in 2015. Already have a costume in mind š
oh planning ahead!
I LOVED this race last year!! I have to admit I like the 10-miler medal a lot more this year though – I am not the biggest Stitch fan. I’ve never even seen the movie lol!
the movie is cute!
I got to see the medals and FitBloggin and loved them! I’d love to run a Disney race!
you really really need to sign up for one!
Would love these medals. Unfortunately, we decided to go to Disney in a week rather than spend a weekend doing a Run Disney event. Maybe next year.
always next year!
