Mary Poppins Returns and Christopher Robin Teasers

There is some exciting stuff coming out this year my friends! I have two things to tell you about. First of all, there is a new teaser trailer and poster our for Christopher Robin! I grew up on Winnie the Pooh so I am loving this:

“In the heartwarming live action adventure, the young boy who embarked on countless adventures in the Hundred Acre Wood with his band of spirited and lovable stuffed animals, has grown up and lost his way. Now it is up to his childhood friends to venture into our world and help Christopher Robin remember the loving and playful boy who is still inside.”

Be sure to follow Christopher Robin on Facebook.

This movie in theatres everywhere on August 3, 2018!

Also…

I am so pumped for this one guys. Mary Poppins Returns is in theaters on Christmas Day, 2018, and there is a new teaser trailer available (at the end of this post if you are in a hurry.)

Entertainment Updates

1.) Ok guys, I need some new books to read. I am looking for a couple of different things:

-A mindless beach read, the cheesier the better, but still has to be good. Smile

– Mamas, what are some good baby books I should be reading about life with a newborn? It will be here before I know it!

Who doesn’t love reading at the beach?

2.) Also, who else is super sad about the loss of Cristina on Grey’s Anatomy? She is my favorite character, and I am so beyond sad to watch her go. The show just won’t be as awesomely sarcastic without her.

3.) Who is excited for the next Hunger Games movie coming out in November? Have you seen this? Julianne Moore is going to make a great President Coin in my opinion. I cannot wait!

4.) Any other good movies out or coming out I don’t know about? I feel SO behind in this sort of thing. I think I am getting old.

5.) Bachelor starts up on Monday! Who will be sucked into the drama with me? (I seriously can’t help it. I know it’s awful).

QOTD: Pick a question (or more) and answer. Let’s chat!

Fashion Friday and the Hunger Games

Happy Friday! Who is off work today? Unfortunately, I am working, as is my husband. But, her is off on Monday, so I am going to try to get a lot done today so I can take part of Monday off. Today is an important day for me though, as a Christian, so I will be taking some time out today to reflect on the importance of Good Friday to me.

I will admit, I do not consider myself a fashionable person. Working from home, I wear mainly sweats and running skirts, so being fashionable is a bit more tricky. When I do go to dinner or out somewhere, I do take a bit more careful consideration since I don’t get to wear “real” clothes as often! I will not be doing fashion Friday every Friday, but plan to implement it sometimes, when the mood (or an outfit) strikes me.

Today, I am a walking Banana Republic outlet ad. We went to dinner with a friend last night, so I wore some new clothes I picked up at the outlet (40% off plus I had a 15% off coupon, score!)

I also wanted to discuss the Hunger Games. I know a lot of people have been talking about it, but as an avid fan of the books, I wanted to share my thoughts on the movie as well.

I did think it was a good adaptation from book to movie (pretty close as you can get). But, I did feel some key parts were left out.

1.) I feel like the “showmance” between Katniss and Peeta was not played up. I don’t think people who didn’t read the books would understand she was really not in love with him and was thinking about Gale.I think it was kind of confusing.

2.) In the book, a big deal was made out of the capitol food and how much Katniss loved it and overindulged. I feel like a lot more emphasis could have been made on the food, and the fact that she was starving and the people in 12 were always hungry.

3.) I wish they would have put in the part where Katniss received bread from Rue’s district.

4.) When Katniss first got into the arena, she searched and searched for water and it was a big deal. In the movie, she went right to it, no big deal.

5.) The part where Peeta “disguised” himself by the river. OMG. I die. I almost busted out laughing in the middle of the theater because it was so ridiculous.

6.) The avox girl was totally taken out.

There are a few other minor things here and there, but those were the main things I saw. I know it was hard to take the book to movie since Katniss is narrating the book, and I know my expectations were REALLY high. Don’t get me wrong, overall I was pleased, I loved seeing the Capitol outfits etc. and hope to see more in the next movie! (Which by the way I am so bummed doesn’t come out until November 2013!)

QOTD: –Do you consider yourself fashionable?

-Did you see the Hunger Games? thoughts? anything else they left out?

Scream Like a Girl

It’s Twilight time! and, AND, not only am I hoping Bobby will take me to see the movie soon…but we got to see the Hunger Games trailer this week too. Two of my favorite current book series turned movies, all over the news this week, and I am ready to scream like a little girl!

I loved reading the Twilight series, (and plan to read it again soon) but I must admit…I am almost more excited about the Hunger Games coming out in March than I a about Breaking Dawn, just a LITTLE more excited…still totally psyched about my favorite vampires though.

I will admit though, I have really geeked out about all things Hunger Games as of late. Did you know I am a citizen of District 12? That’s right, I am that cool.

You can get your ID badge and find out your district at this Hunger Games Capitol website! And now 12 year olds everywhere have something in common with me. I hope they release a second trailer before the movie comes out.

There are also some pictures in Vanity Fair as well, I love this one!

How cool to be cast in a movie series that you just know is going to be huge. These kids will be forever changed, how cool is that? I love it when someone in a movie becomes a big star and came from just a regular average family, and didn’t grow up in Hollywood or New York City. Gives hope for the rest of us average Joe’s, huh?

———————————————-

Yesterday morning, I tried to go for my first run in two weeks. I was really excited about getting back out on the pavement. It was a beautiful day, and I have really missed running. I felt great until I hit a downhill right before 2 miles…and my foot started slightly hurting. Boo!! I finished out the two miles and called it a day, feeling slightly defeated. Hopefully just a little more time is all I need. I need to get back to training! Luckily the YMCA opens TODAY so I will be able to walk to the gym for my workouts. So even if I can’t run, I can lift and cross train my booty off. I will have pictures of the grand opening tomorrow!

QOTD: Have you seen breaking Dawn yet? If so how was it? Are you excited for the Hunger Games? What are you dying to see the most in either movie? (Breaking Dawn or Hunger Games?)
