Disney Wonder Cruise 2018: Part 6

Did you miss part 5? check it out then come back here!

We were headed back to port, but still had two sea days ahead of us. We found out Santa was going to be taking photos in the lobby that morning, so of course that was our first stop.

She signed the nice list (I wasn’t so sure about that ha) and got to meet the big guy.

They even had a cute table set up with cookies.

After that, Emma Kate went to the kids club because Bobby and I had a reservation for one of our favorite things, PALO brunch!

We had a table with a great view and we ate all. of. the. food. It was amazing as usual, something I would never miss on a Disney cruise!

After brunch, we picked up Emma Kate from the club, got in our swimsuits and went to the pool. It was a bit chilly but EK didn’t seem to mind.

Before we knew it, it was time for pictures and dinner again!

We ran into Mickey in the hallway and he grabbed Emma Kate’s hand and walked around with her, and she was SO excited. I love how the character interations are random and plentiful on the ship!

We were in Tiana’s again, and it still remains my favorite restaurant of the three!

After a delicious dinner, EK went back to the club and Bobby and I played foosball and ping pong on the pool deck. We were the only ones up there and it was a lot of fun. We had one more day coming up, and that one would end on a low note, so stay tuned to see what happend.

Disney Fantasy Cruise 2016: Day 5 Part Two

We ended halfway through our Grand Cayman day in my last installment. After we got back to the ship, we decided to go to the gym. I most definitely was not in the mood to workout, so I just did a few weight machines then did 45 minutes on the stationary bike while I read my book. I planned to eat a lot at dinner that night because we were going to Palo, so the gym was definitely needed! We were literally the only ones in there for the first half hour, which was nice, but also kind of funny.

Bobby stayed to do some more working out, so I sat on our balcony and read my book with Grand Cayman in the background. Not too shabby of a view.

Grand Cayman

I can’t remember what else I did that afternoon, probably took a nap, to get myself ready for my favorite dinner, Palo! Palo is an adults only restaurant on board the Disney ships, and it is amazing. If you have cruised Disney but never diner at Palo, I highly highly recommend you reserve a spot on your next cruise!

After we checked in, we went on the balcony and enjoyed the most gorgeous sunset. Sadly, my iPhone pictures don’t do it justice, but it was breathtaking.

We were soon seated at a table all the way in the back with a great view of the ocean.

Palo

Our server was great, and I love how they don’t rush you. Based on the below photo, you would think there were four people at our table. No no, just use two.

Palo dinner

Always ALWAYS save room for dessert at Palo! Best chocolate soufflé ever.

IMG_1413

We were also given this very sweet message from the chef for our anniversary.

IMG_1415

After we were sufficiently stuffed, we headed out.

IMG_1421

This guy was waiting foe us in our room.

IMG_1422

Someone gave us this Star Wars mask and I think it’s SO FREAKY. Bobby saved it and occasionally sneaks up on me with it. I am never amused by this.

IMG_1423

We got out of our fancy clothes and into some sweats and headed to one of the movie theaters to see Inside Out. I hadn’t seen it yet, and it was super cute. Then it was off to bed, because our Star Wars Day at Sea was the next day, and I knew a very excited little boy who wasn’t going to want to miss any of it…well, maybe excited big boy is a better term!

QOTD: Do you workout on vacation? Have you eaten at Palo?

Cruise on the Magic Part 2

We made it over the hill and are headed down to the weekend on this Thursday morning. This week is flying by, I am still in awe that it’s June and we are starting the 7th day of it already!! I am a little behind on my vacation posts, so I thought today was as good a day as any!

Be sure to check out the first installment of our cruise before continuing on.

We woke up the next morning still sailing towards Key West. We had Palo brunch, so we didn’t eat breakfast. If you have never had the opportunity to do Palo brunch, you are missing out. It is an amazing buffet and plated adults only meal. So relaxing, and so good! It’s Bobby’s favorite part of the cruise. Please note that it is required for a guy to wear long pants for this brunch. No jeans or shorts allowed.

We arrived early and were seated immediately. We were introduced to our server who was very nice and did an excellent job.

Our waiter then brought us to the buffet and showed us all the different tables, and explained how to order the plated food, and then we were let loose.

DSC_0504

I didn’t take photos of all the buffet food this time but you can check out my Palo post from the Dream to see lots of buffet table photos! We also ordered several plated items. I got the buttermilk pancakes

DSC_0506

Bobby ordered FOUR eggs benedict. He says they are the best he’s ever had!

My favorite, dessert! Cheesecake in a glass, tiramisu, chocolate covered strawberry

Bobby’s birthday was on the reservation as a celebration for the cruise and they brought him this plate out

This is our second cruise where we ate Palo brunch on Key west day, and we love it because you get to watch the ship pull in and dock while you eat.

DSC_0512

We went back to our room (more like waddled!) and changed so we could head out and explore. One of the nice things about this trip was that we had no plans. No port adventures, nothing we “had” to do. We have been to Key West before and done all the touristy things, so we just planned to walk around for a bit and then hit up the hopefully deserted pool.

The nice thing about docking in Key West is you can turn your cell phone back on! I was able to call my parents and check on my dogs, text and upload some photos, and check work email.

These guys are everywhere!

DSC_0532

So, funny story. We walked to the pier and saw this guy fishing. This pelican was standing about eight feet away watching. All of the sudden, the guy gets a tug on his line and the bird starts moving in closer and closer and finally jumps in the water. The guy shoos it away enough to get the fish out of the water, but then decides for whatever reason to give it to the pelican anyway, who promptly put the whole thing in it’s mouth and then had to fight off another pelican trying to steal his fish. It was really comical!

DSC_0536

You can see the fish in his mouth! It was huge but he was determined not to drop it. I kept thinking of Finding Nemo when he tells the fish to get in his mouth and he would save them haha

After walking in a few shops, we had our fill and decided to go back and try to get a spot at the adult pool. We lucked up, it was deserted! (The below photo is not where we sat, but still a nice view of Key West!)

DSC_0542

Later we went back to the room to try to get some shots of the famous Key West sunset

I think I managed to get a couple good shots. Smile I shall leave you with that. My next installment will have plenty more photos!

I hope everyone got out and ran yesterday! It wasn’t a run day for me, but I couldn’t help it, I jumped on the treadmill to do a mile after my yoga class!

QOTD: Did you run for National running day? Have you ever been to Key West?
