Disclosure: This post is sponsored by The Lodge at Gulf State Park, however, all opinions are my own.
Last summer when we were leaving our beach vacation in the Orange Beach/Gulf Shores area, I remember seeing a large set of buildings off in the distance, and wasn’t sure what they were. I did some Googling, and discovered it’s actually a hotel and convention center called The Lodge at Gulf State Park nestled right on the beach in the middle of Gulf State Park. The facilities were beautiful, and I knew I wanted to try and stay there one day!
We are so fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with them this spring, and the hotel did not disappoint! Something I love about the Lodge is their sustainability efforts and how eco friendly it is.
For instance, they have special windows all across the back of the lodge so that birds don’t fly into them an injure themselves. Also, all the packaging for lotion, etc. in the room is made of paper/recyclable (no plastic). The buildings were designed to reduce energy by 32%, and 15% of the building materials are recycled materials!
Probably my favorite fun fact is that condensation from the HVAC system is collected and recycled to replace water in the pool which averages about 2000 gallons a day. Say What?!? How cool is that!
They also have free 3 hour bike rentals so you can go across the road and ride the many miles of trails in the state park. How cool is that?!?
Switching gears, let’s talk about the grounds themselves. We loved the bright, airy lobby and the huge back porch that faced the water, sprinkled with rocking chairs and benches. The perfect way to relax and unwind at the end of the day.
The pool also has an ocean view, as well as a zero entry and infinity edge.
There are several dining options on site, as well as a coffee and wine bar! We had breakfast each morning from a delicious buffet with gulf views at Food Craft restaurant.
Did I mention the convention center!? The Lodge boasts 40,000 sq feet of indoor and outdoor event space. It has the largest beach view ballroom on the Gulf Coast, accommodating groups up to 1,000 guests!
We also loved our sleek and natural looking room. We had a king bed with a set of bunk beds. Our room also featured a nice bathroom, cubby/closet area, and beautiful balcony overlooking the water.
I loved our room location because it was super quick to go back and forth from the pool and the room if we needed something (which we did several times because clearly I forgot all the things when we went down the first time!)
On top of all of this fun, we were also just steps from the beach itself!
There truly is so much to do and enjoy at The Lodge at Gulf State Park, and I can’t wait to go back and experience it again! A huge thanks to them for hosting us on our trip!
