Top 5 Things to Do After You Board the Carnival Vista

February 1, 2018 | blogging, family, Mental Health, retaurant, Travel

Disclosure: I was provided free cruise fare for myself and my husband from Carnival, however all opinions are my own, and these are my unbiased best embarkation day tips for boarding the Carnival Vista!

5 things to do after you Board the Carnival Vista

I have cruised several times, and have learned a few tricks about how to make the most out of the day we get on board (Embarkation day). However, my tips vary depending on which cruise and cruise line I am on, so check out my best tips for Embarkation day on the Carnival Vista below:

1.) Eat:Ā It’s typically lunchtime when you get on board the ship, and since rooms aren’t ready yet, we may as well eat! It’s a great way to get in the vacation and relaxation mindset. There are a few places to choose from to eat on the Vista, which is great in helping to spread people out.

Pro tip: We opted for Pig and Anchor BBQ, because the majority of people will head to the buffet, AND, this place is only open on certain days!Ā

2.) Sky Ride:Ā The sky ride is so, so popular, and as you can see from the photo below, only two people can ride at a time. It is the least crowded on embarkation day and on port days when people get off the ship. My tip is to try and go as soon as you get on board, as the line will get longer as the day goes on. How cool is this?!?

Pro tip: Either wear closed toed shoes or pack some in your carry on, as they are required for the Sky Ride.

3.) Dining Reservations:Ā Sometimes you may not have the opportunity to get dining reservations at one of the three specialty locations on the Vista, but you can make them in person at the restaurants when you get on board the ship. We did this and were easily able to get reservations at the two spots we wanted to dine in. Perfect!

Pro Tip: Do this as soon as you get onboard (ok maybe after you grab some grub) for the best selection of times and dates!

4.) Swim:Ā Eat a little lunch, then go for a swim or sunbathe right? That screams VACATION to me! As you can see from the pictures below, the pools were virtually empty on embarkation day (and no it wasn’t cold outside! It was Miami in November!) This is a wonderful time to grab a chair and a towel and soak it all in, or hop in the hot tub and enjoy the afternoon.

Pro Tip: pack your swimsuit in your carry on, you won’t have access to your luggage until later in the afternoon.Ā

5.) Relax:Ā You have eaten, done the sky ride, gotten your dining reservations and gone for a swim, now its time to think about nothing else because you are on vacation on this gorgeous ship! Enjoy the ship and all the entertainment, dining, and fun she has to offer. There truly is something for everyone when you board the Carnival Vista.

Between dogs, snacks that never make it to a plate, and whatever is happening in my entryway on a daily basis… I needed something that could actually keep up in one go. This one’s been doing the heavy lifting so I’m not doing 12 different cleanups for the same mess.

Life doesn’t happen in neat, single-surface moments. From pet hair to crumbs to tracked-in grass, real homes have layered messes. The BISSELL PowerClean DualBrushā„¢ is designed to handle it all in one pass without switching tools or going over the same spot twice.

Promotion: List Price $359.99, on sale for $259.99 ($100 off) from 4/5–5/30. Limited time only, don’t miss it. Link in bio to shop while the deal lasts šŸ‘€

I clipped the 4x fuel points digital coupon on the Kroger app, grabbed a Mastercard gift card at Kroger, and turned a quick errand into a little win-win situation by adding in a handmade colored card and personalized note. She gets to pick exactly what she wants. šŸ’›

I get 4X fuel points while I’m already out running around (because of course I am). Simple, thoughtful, and honestly kind of perfect.
Head to your local Kroger, clip the coupon, and grab a Visa or Mastercard gift card, but the offer is only good through May 12! Link is in my bio!

Lately our go-to has been Zbar Protein Snack Bars, especially the new Strawberries ā€˜N Creme flavor that is made with organic whole grain oats, real fruit, and protein to help support growing kids. It’s a snack she loves and I feel good about too.

It’s a great little reset so she can get right back to doing what she does best, playing her heart out šŸ’•

Getting older, I started noticing my hair wasn’t q Getting older, I started noticing my hair wasn’t quite the same. A little more thinning, my scalp hasn’t felt the same, and I’ve spent more time just throwing it up into a ponytail, and honestly not giving it much thought beyond that. šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø

So I started becoming more intentional about actually taking care of my hair and scalp, and it’s such a small shift, but it really does make me feel better.

I’ve been using Mochi Health’s personalized hair support options, which makes it easier to stay consistent instead of guessing what to use. It fits into my routine and finally feels like I’m doing something proactive for myself instead of just hiding it in a bun. Check out the link in my bio for $40 off your first month.

Embarkation day on the Disney Wonder out of San Diego is pure organized chaos in the best way. Bags everywhere, everyone buzzing, and that moment you step onboard and suddenly forget how to function like a normal human.

We’re talking: Where are we even going first? Do we eat or explore or both immediately? Why does this already feel like the best decision ever?

And then the sail a wave party happens and… yeah. You’re gone. Mentally, emotionally, everything. 😭

If you know, you know…embarkation day hits different 🚢✨

Thanks @bestdayevervacay and Disney for hosting us on this magical adventure! Use the šŸ”— in my bio to let then plan a cruise just like mine, down to the last detail!
