Wedding Take Two?

February 8, 2013 | blogging, family

Some of you may have seen the teaser photo on my social media accounts yesterday, asking why I was wearing a lot of makeup and nice jewelry. Well, I got to do something fun with Bobby yesterday…we were in a local TV commercial for a hospital, and we had to dress up as a bride and groom! Also, I got to wear my own wedding dress! It was a lot of fun (and we got paid, which REALLY makes it fun!)

Bobby and I have dabbled in acting/modeling for years and we enjoy it when we get the chance to participate.

We headed to a church not far from our house to shoot the commercial, and once we got me into my dress (which takes forever!) It was show time.

Truck full of filming equipment

It was neat to see again all of the work that goes into filming just a short scene, those guys work hard! We had to stand and smile, look at each other, kiss, etc. and only shot for about ten minutes. However, I can’t wait to see the finished product!

Not to mention, I never thought I would put my wedding dress on again, so we couldn’t resist taking some fun photos since I was all gussied up. So, here you go, six years later! We had a blast taking these.

I will be sure to post the finished product whenever I get to see it.

QOTD: Have you ever worn your wedding dress for anything other than your wedding? Do you still have your wedding dress? Do you plan to save your dress?

You look gorgeous! Getting to wear your dress again must have been so fun! I am not yet married, so I haven’t gotten to re-wear my dress (it lives in a garment bag for now). I’m sure I’ll cleand it and keep it, but I don’t know if I’ll get it profesionally preserved.

I thought about it but its a lot of money to have it sit in a box. I have mine in a zipped up garmet bag.

Beautiful! I do have my wedding dress and I want to make it into Baptismal gowns at some point. Em missed being baptized in one (she wore the one I was baptized in though).

    You look beautiful.
My wedding dress was covered in beer spills and sweat. I didn’t take it in immediately to get cleaned, thus it was ruined. Nope, never will wear again… That’s ok. It’s like 5 sizes too big anyway.

I still have my dress. Safe in its box preserved for later. Not thinking my daughter will want to wear it. Times have changed in 16 years. Don’t know if it would fit me now. How fun for you. Maybe one day I will open it up and see if it still fits

I do still have my dress. My mom & I have both been on a weight loss journey and plan to pull out our dresses for “way too big” photos when we reach our goals (both within 10 lbs of goal but well below our marriage day weights). Should be fun!! 🙂

How Fun! My husband and I actually met shooting a commercial together many years ago.

I think I still have my wedding dress somewhere? I’m 100% sure I will never wear it again I was pregnant at my wedding and the dress is HUGE. I’m not sure why I’m even saving it. I have two boys so I know they won’t be wearing it!

Women, I encourage you in 2026 to find a table where women champion other women. And I encourage all the ladies here to be a girl’s girl. There is room for everyone, and we ALL need a little support, even those that look like they have it all together.
